I was never a big SAO fan, but within the show, GGO felt like it would've been cool to see as a fully fledged game. This game doesn't have the best story nor does it make the best use of its characters (90% of scenes with Kirito have all of his friends clumped up in a small room), but the gameplay itself is really fun.

It reminds me a lot of old RPG Maker games mixed with Undertale and Everhood. I love it so much.

In a game like this, I think the turning speed mechanic can be fun to work with when you consider that you're usually in a giant armored tank with humanoid proportions. However, it doesn't make much sense for the pilot to turn even slower than said tank. I understand that tanks are heavy and turn slow in real life, but HUMANS? "Oh no, my mobile suit is right behind me and needs repairs! Hang on, let me TURN AROUND VERY SLOWLY as I'm unable to use my bodily functions effectively because we as humans have evolved to be at the mercy of a turning speed mechanic that giant robots have."

I guess the matchmaking is pretty bad too, but not as bad as how this game has humanity evolving backwards. When I try to join a match, I'm met with an A rank who disconnects immediately. Either they fear that my severely underbuilt level 1 Guntank will obliterate their Kshatriya or their internet fears the poor servers.

This game offers one of the best experiences that I've ever had in a game. The combat is fast-paced and responsive with a wide variety of weapons and gameplay styles. The story gets you attached to the characters and has moments so sad that you might want to play with a box of tissues next to you. The soundtrack does an amazing job at immersing you in the environments and setting the tone for boss fights. I highly recommend trying it out and playing through all 5 endings.

I really like the music, visuals, and gameplay of this! I would honestly love to see this as a more full-length game at some point in the future!

My only complaints are that some enemies will keep approaching me slowly after they're dead (specifically the robots), the game could use some optimization, and the physics feel a bit off at times.

Other than that, I really enjoyed this!

Really subtle but nice callback to Sonic Adventure 2. I think these shoes work really well thematically since there are so many rails and these shoes are made for rail grinding.

Early Access Review
I used to absolutely love this game, but ever since EAC was implemented, it took longer to boot the game up and it caused my framerate to drop significantly. It was running at 90-120 FPS before the update, but now it's running below 50 FPS. The game was already super unoptimized, so why did they have to implement something that's KNOWN to cause performance issues? This especially confuses me because there were mods that significantly increased performance, added necessary QoL features, and overall made the experience much more enjoyable. Unfortunately, EAC makes it impossible to use these mods.

On top of that, people with avatars that crash the game are able to get away with it much more easily now. Rather than working AGAINST them, it feels as if the game is working WITH them.

I want to recommend this game, I really do. But because of the implementation of an unnecessary feature that hinders its performance on desktop, which requires less resources than VR, I simply can't.
