there has been a change, sony, to my amazement, has changed tact and decided to forgo the mandatory PSN account linking requirement for Helldivers 2.

this is a huge win for gamers.

the only criticism I have of this game, is that they're still learning when it comes to timing of major orders, it's a bit fatiguing to be told we've fought off the automatons for the Nth time only to immediately be ambushed by them again, without consideration for the fact that the weekend has just ended and player counts during the week are a little lower as a consequence. which means not only will a subsequent bigger major order that starts after a weekend is even harder to win, a lot of people who were around for the weekend will miss out due to work commitments during the week, part of being good with live service games is understanding the habits of your players and how much time they can realistically commit.

otherwise it's just an insanely good cooperative shooter that makes you feel like an action movie star on more occasions than you'd think was likely.

and for those salty about the fact that PC users got what they wanted, arrowhead CM spitz themselves, asked for and later re-iterated the need for negative reviews to leverage sony and get them to change their minds, in short, those supporting sony throughout this incident were way off base, there's a number of reasons I'm not going to get into, why what sony tried to do to HD2 and the people who purchased it by extension, was not right and deserved the backlash it got.

just one more note, watch out for the arrowhead community managers, some of them are okay, but a few like missssty_ow and purple squidgeon have been... a problem, during this incident. CMs in general are weird, the community management industry is in need of oversight and accountability.

First thing I'm greeted with is clear evidence that Microsoft is still lazy and evil.

"Sign in with Xbox live"

Why would I buy this on steam if I'm going to get asked to make yet another account?
What was the point if I can't avoid Microsoft collecting my personal info and subjecting me to their draconian terms and conditions that will go with it?

Still haven't signed in and frankly, if this release proves to be garbage in other ways, I'll be seeking a refund just for the insult of having to make yet another stupid one-purpose cloud account.

Getting real sick of corporations pushing cloud crap on me.
We don't need the cloud crap, you just want it for data collection and to enforce strict terms of service.
