The cheapest item on my desk is the cable that connects my monitor to my PC -- it cost, brace yourself, $259.99. Nothing but the finest gold-plated twisted pairs for this DisplayPort.

You really don't understand the difference hardware like this makes until you try it. My monitor refreshes over three hundred times a second . My specialized glasses block blue light and other harmful frequencies. My mouse and keyboard are perfectly tuned for fragging. Hell, even the lamp on my desk is perfectly positioned to help me achieve the highest quality possible gaming experience.
