There is a lot of love put into this game, and you can tell.

First off, it's not FES. I was going to give it a pass despite that because it's subjective which a person might prefer. I personally prefer that for its epilogue, animated cutscenes, and overall feel.

However, the quality of this port is pretty rough. I keep experiencing dips in graphical and auditory performance. The first time the main character summons his persona is particularly bad, for example, or at least it was in my playthrough. It sounds like you're hearing everything through an old radio.

I'll change my review if they patch the performance issues, but if they never do, I would at least recommend waiting for a sale. (You could also just play FES!)

This version--in its current state--is just not worth full price.

Duel Links has a lot going on but is one of those games that's pretty easy to get the hang of. At first, you'll have a blast fighting other players and gathering various cards to improve your decks. There's even a ranked system with rewards to obtain! It's all very fun.

At first.

At first. I cannot stress this enough. It's pleasant at first. There's a lot more frustration than fun here. Duel Links is essentially pay to win, and Konami will drive you nuts with pretty much every decision they make.

Let's discuss the PVP. After you get so high in ranked (or not if you're particularly unlucky), the decks you face will all be the same. Not only that, but they'll probably wipe out your entire deck on the first turn. Many times the victor is decided by who goes first because balancing is either nonexistent or takes forever.

Sure, you could invest time in obtaining these one-turn-kill decks, but the meta will shift entirely the moment nerfs come out or another set is brought in. Guess who's farming to get a perfect deck again! The in-game currency goes quickly and comes slowly.

It's not worth it. Duel Links will get stale unless you have tons of money to spend on a tiny chance to get that one card you're missing. I gave the game chance after chance but ended up annoyed each time.

Play this game. Now. It's free, so you've got absolutely nothing to lose. Just set aside a few hours to see how interesting, creative, and memorable Doki Doki Literature Club can be.

HuniePop has an interesting reputation, to say the least, but don't let that keep you from giving it a try. I will say, however, that if puzzle games aren't your thing (or you get offended by suggestive content), just head somewhere else.

Gameplay-wise, it's fine; there's nothing really wrong with HuniePop. The levels get progressively more challenging, and players unlock items over time to clear each batch of tokens differently. Interacting with various girls will also have a slight effect on how you clear the game. Not much else goes on in HuniePop, honestly, aside from typical elements of a dating simulation.

In terms of negative aspects, I would say it does not have much replay value. Don't let my time above fool you; many people stop a few hours in, after sleeping with one or two of the characters, because--at its core--HuniePop is basically a puzzle game with naughty rewards. I'm just perverted persistent. People have complained about HuniePop's voice acting, as well, but it has never bothered me. Occasionally, though, I do encounter a problem with the interface that can easily be fixed by resizing the display.

I, personally, enjoyed HuniePop. The game's definitely not for everyone. If you're unsure as to whether or not you'd like it, I suggest watching a video of HuniePop's first fifteen minutes or so and perhaps buying the game during a sale instead.

A wonderful game with all the quirks and charm of the original, while maintaining a fresh feel. The plot is more immersive, the quotes are just as memorable, and there is now a co-op mode to keep you entertained for hours. Portal 2 is still rather short, but nowhere near as short as the original. Definitely worth playing.
