Really enjoyed the gameplay, story, and setting from before. Replayed it over the summer with the DLC. The DLC is just simply great, the main mission, side gigs, extra content, is just great. Highly recommend getting the game with the DLC.

Early Access Review
A social VR game where you can talk and meet people across the world. Its pretty amazing as its backed heavily by user-generated content (UGC) such as avatars and worlds, bringing tons of customizability and a feeling of a safe space free of ads and outside influence.
Its a place made by people for people. However, this UGC also includes mods which improves the game for many users who need more performance, security, adjustments or accessibility features. This coming update directly goes against the UGC aspect of the game, removing ALL mod-ability of the game by including Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) in the name of increased security. This is the type of decision which will harm substantially more good-willed people than bad ones. This is a horrible decision considering how much this game relies on UGC to thrive. The addition of EAC could in theory work very well, but its far to early considering that VRChat is lacking many of the fixes and features extra mods are bringing. Therefore, as this is the direction the game is heading, I cannot recommend it anymore.

EDIT:
I've now played the new update for a bit, and it has greatly worsened performance compared to earlier. Performance pre-update wasn't very good, but now its even worse. Loading times for starting the game and going between worlds feels almost double what it was before. I have many more FPS spikes than previously, as every time someone joins a world or changes their avatar my game freezes for several seconds with lowered fps afterwards. CPU usage has more than doubles, going from roughly 20% usage to 50%, and ram-usage has increased by 4gb. Even with this increased usage my FPS is lower than before, which has made playing in VR much less comfortable than before. Additionally when I use pass-through in my RiftS to see my IRL room, it runs MUCH slower than before, as if my PC is being heavily strained.

I'm very disappointed that this update has not only disabled mods, but also severely worsened performance for a game that was already running poorly.

A very fun and immersive VR experience with looting, shooting and surviving. The inventory system works very well, and it intuitive to use, so is the gun maintenance and shooting. Its fun to learn about each environment through exploring them, and understanding the enemies you're fighting.
Fighting is pretty fun, I find fighting enemies with guns to be a bit tedious, as aiming for long-distance shots can be hard while being sniped by a pistol mimic, but its engaging.

ITR is a bit hardcore for new VR users, but I was able to get into it after only having played Alyx. I recommend this title for anyone wanting something open-world shooter'y single player!

The Culling has been a slippery ride that many would say ended up bad. But it my eyes the game is better than ever.

During the first few weeks after launch the game was extremely unbalanced and chaotic, Stun Guns had 3 charges, meaning you get 3 free backstabs, explosives could be found in Green Crates, the optimization was horrible and generally it was a mess, but it was a fun mess. However, after a while people started to realize how to exploit this mess, and it became obvious that there was a skill-gap and unbalancy.
The developers started adding delays to combat actions, and started removing items which were considered overpowered, and after a while, they ended up with a fairly nice blank slate. Right now, the game arguably feels stale, over half the original perks were removed, and airdrops were changed significantly. BUT!!! The game is now more balanced than ever, the combat is smooth, and nothing really feels overpowered anymore, although some items are scarier than others.

Cons:
- Lacking playerbase (as of now: 24.11.16)
- Sometimes crashes occour
- A somewhat "beefy" computer is needed to play, but I've heard people with integrated graphics can play with ~30fps
- If you lose a lot the game becomes incredibly frustrating
- Variety of perks is lacking
- The game can be very punishing for new players, due to many games being mixes of new/old players. (PLAY THE TUTORIAL PLEASE!!!)

Pros:
- Incredibly fun and immersive gameplay
- Very well designed map, with great flow of gameplay and beautiful atmosphere
- Good variety of weapons, items and traps
- Incredibly friendly and active "Cullmunity"
- The developers are very active and communicate well with the playerbase
- This is the most satisfying game to win in, you can really feel the adrenaline every fight!
- Its pretty cheap for all the fun you recieve
- A lot of fun with a friend in the Teams gamemode!

I get around ~110 fps on 1080p Max everything with a i5 4690k + gtx 970.
