Most fun I've had since the original COD zombie modes. Get it!

This is a tough one, if there was a mixed review option I'd choose that.

Playing in VR with a Hotas. The VR is done superbly, but the integration with a Hotas, in particular the key mapping is just utterly appalling. Frequent soft crashes if a key isn't mapped to a particular key require constant re-mapping - which really distracts from experience. This seems to be a common complaint. Devs have clearly focused on controller play, but (like ED) really comes into it's own in VR with a stick. Real shame.

When it's running, it's a fun game. But setting it up is an ongoing nightmare.

I don't review games very often, but this was an excellent game, I couldn't put it down! I was late to the party and this only came to my attention when Ninja Theory ported this to VR - I haven't played in VR yet, but this would be incredible.

I love Ninja Theory titles and this was reminded me of Heavenly Sword, but with a deeper plot and I actually feel for the protagonist. It's short, but well worth it for the £20 mark.

Definitely play with a quality set of 3D headphones as these have been optimised for

This has been in my library for 5 years - can't believe I just got round to playing it!

Game is basically a point and click decision and consequence (like a telltale) with retro graphics

It' repetitive, but that's actually the point and relates to the plot, which was pretty good for such a small game!

Excellent game, not really played anything quite like it. Merger of a 3rd person hack & slash, shooter and RPG. Very different way to tell a story, especially the ending. I particularly liked the switching between 3D, isometric and 2D perspectives.

It's a shooter such as Battlefield with some basic survival elements, gathering guns etc on a huge map, with a decreasing play area - players are forced into an ever reducing play space.

It's really awesome! Perfect balance of survival and gunplay for quick games!

EDIT, removed the Don't Starve ref - yea it's pretty misconceiving!!!

Vive strapped to my face, I'm coming into land, I'm in the pipe, 5 by 5 and I feel my phone vibrate. I pick it up, offer it upto my face. It's not there and I frown confused for a few seconds before I realise I'm not really flying a spaceship! This game was made for VR.

FYI I have many more hours in from before the game was on steam, somewhere in the region of 500 at the time of writing.

Like so many have already said, you have to like space! Its very spacey! All the negative reviews revolve around the grind and lack of any storyline and this is why I'm writing this. Elite is a simulator and NOT an arcade game, you won't be shooting aliens in 5 minutes, you have to be prepared to work for your rewards. The missions have improved, but it's still very much "do you own thing", you set your own goals.

As a minimum, you need a HOTAS! Add a headset and the level of immersion is unrivaled. The community is the best I've ever encountered.

The dev team are still adding content and have a definitive road map and listen to their customers. Its never too late to start playing.

See you in the black!

It's rare I review a game... but this was the reason I cancelled my Oculus for the Vive! This had me literally ducking and diving all over the living room. Really really good fun!
