Do I recommend it? People complain about a lot of things wrong with this DLC, but these are mostly "subverted expectations" of sorts. Nothing is irredeemably wrong with it. So I kinda recommend it. Though it does cost as much as Biotech, which is bad (Biotech is straight up girthier, AND fits broader audience, AND offers tons of now-essential mechanics).

Is it a must-have? Absolutely not. If you don't specifically need the stuff in here and you aren't desperate for a slightly fresh experience, you won't really lose much by not picking this up.

A little story for fellow cor wriminals.

I had to release a 12 yo lowmate (who knows, knows) that I imprisoned for following a different ideology, so she can go and deactivate the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cube, because everyone else was a hardcore cube simp.

I anesthetize all but one pawn that I needed for that. Forgot to tell the 12yo to anesthetize them as well. Cube? Gone. That one pawn? Tore a limb off of every prisoner with bare hands, punched the guest I just rescued in the nose, then proceeded to throw fists with one of the awakening pawns for 24+ hours straight (I got a Vanilla Expanded achievement for that). Yes, I had to switch the "sparring partner" pawn so they wouldn't starve. Love this game.

Wonderful game, a very enjoyable specimen of the genre. Progression feels great, both the permanent upgrades store and the achievement system are quite expansive and rewarding.

Is this game worth your time?
No, please find a better use for these 999 hours Yes! It's really addictive and can be both welcoming for players unfamiliar with genre and challenging for speedrunners, minmaxers, etc.
