Not usually a fan of sports games but I don't know if its the story mode cut-scenes or the fact that i just really wanted to stick it to Cobb (in game rival). But i got invested in trying to win a championship for my team. Here i am chilling in a chair with a controller in my hand freaking out cause of that last second 3 pointer that got us the "W". One of those game moments where it feels real, like you just took on Lebron or Curry and walked away like it wasn't nothing. Felt good, if enough things are changed besides the roster and stats I'll get 2k22 as well.

A video game is supposed to make you feel so engulfed in the story that you forget the outside world and just take a moment to enjoy yourself. In Dark Souls however you couldn't get more sucked in for the exact opposite reason. You are so focused on just trying to stay alive that you're only thinking about that. The story can be the best ever told but with to much simplicity can still be the worst game ever, Dark Souls is not that game. The best I've ever felt when playing cannot be discribed exactly 100% with a few sentences, but I'll try.

As you use an mysterious key you've only just recieved you move down a flight of stairs that lead to what looks to be a small village that has been underneath you this entire time. You walk forward sword at the ready finger pressed firmly down on your block binding so you constantly have your shield raised in anticipation for whatever enemy lies ahead. Three wolves if you can call these vicious demon like creatures wolves rush you you swing and kill one with your blade almost instantly but before you can celebrate you see the other two still snarling at you. You jump backwards and barely dodge the animal you swing again and take out the creatures, but not before three thieves start to throw knifes in your sides. The rest of the battle is a repation of them parrying your attacks and you constantly being bombarded with pain but before you know it you're there the white wall of smoke that will inevitably bring you to the boss. You go to your inventory and hotbar the charcoal pine resin and begin praying that four estus flasks will be enough, you walk through the smoke. Immediately you are presented with a blitzkrieg of enemies three of the wolves from earlier and a goat man who is known as the Capra demon. With such a challenge before you, you make a rational decision...RUN.

There is only so much space to run tou see stairs and quickly acsend the wolves kite themselves and you manage to two shot all of them leaving just the boss who is following his wolves and most importantly you. He swings his weapon and takes half of your stamina but luckly none of your health you attack him multiple time before having to block again to stop the reaper from taking you away from the fight, once again much of your stamina is lost but none of your health. The third time you block you're not so fortunate, the blow throws your footing off and your shield is to your side you're wide open for the next attack which you know is about to come. The weapon connects and you start to sweat as the health bar drains, BOOM a second hit your stamina has started to regenerate and you make your move rolling to the side off the stairs and landing a floor below you quickly heal and realize now is your chance to use the pine resin. Whoosh your blade is engulfed in flame and you see the Capra demon descending the stairs, you rush him. Slash, slash, chop, back roll, this is the pattern you use untill you roll right into a wall and take damage once again.

Now you are faced with a decision roll forward risking another attack and most likely death or swing away as fast as you can dealing as much damage to this beast before you in an attempt to win the battle you've put so much into. In a split second you make the choice and option B sounds far more appealing SWING, the blade moves through the Capra demon the last of his health, gone, and you stand victorious. You give a sigh of relief and sit back in your computer chair ready to burst into song. But because you have no musical talent and can't find pitch for your life, you do the next best thing, write a review that tells the tale of your success in hopes that someone will read it and decide to go on an adventure or their own.
