Extremely unique game with hypnotic soundtrack. Also created by a single dev. Innovating the space, one awesome indie title at a time.

Another half-baked Lazy Bear game with an incomplete ending.

The "orders" system is what makes this 4x different than anything I've played. It adds strategic depth to your decisions throughout the game and keeps your engaged, making every turn meaningful. The "laws" section could use some work, to make some either feel more impactful or less lopsided. I look forward to more nations and events being added!

A game that looks pretty simple, but has the most depth out of probably 99% of games you've EVER PLAYED! Yeah you'll get your butt kicked a couples times, but once you learn the ropes, this is one of the most strategically satisfying games you'll ever come across.
Kickass music also adds so much life to each encounter and zone.

Play it on Easy or something. The dialogue and writing are good (imo) but the gameplay is pretty hairpulling-ly obtuse compared to Pillars of Eternity or Divinity: Original Sin, or just any other CRPG in general. Maybe hardcore DnD-style rules just aren't meant for PC games, because this game is absolutely a chore and unfair when it comes to combat transparency.

Hmm what's this creature weak to? oop can't see because I rolled low on the Lore check.
Hmm this wall is definitely a hidden door. Oop can't interact with it because I rolled low on my Perception check.
Hmm swarm creatures that do stat damage/touch attacks that are ONLY at the start (crappy move) and end of the game that absolutely dumpster your party? Guess I should've brought the right spells. Or, I would know which ones to bring if I had passed the Lore check. Literal masses of little spiders are more dangerous than an acid-breathing dragon.

Death effects that don't say why you died? We got those
Kingdom management that's horribly explained and implemented, PLUS RNG dice rolls? We got that
Fatigue system that makes every journey an absolute chore, forcing you to bring rations that adds nothing to gameplay? We got that

Maybe PoE and DOS don't have the depth this game does, but holy crap they are way more apparent about their mechanics and just a heck of a lot more fun to play.

I wish Owlcat the best of luck in their future games, and vigorously hope it can appeal to people like me that aren't Pathfinder veterans like they seem to have expected. And even if they are, just follow PoE/DOS's blueprint for success, because this ain't it, chief.

Early Access Review
Definitely fun and exciting to figure stuff out at a newbie, but the end-game kinda sucks. Rockets are barely explained at all, and there are way too many mechanics that don't get a mention, and you're left dealing with the consequences.

Basically, it's a decent game if you could get it on sale, but otherwise I wouldn't bother. Too many rough edges unless you have a ton of time to sink.

Looks like a great game on its face, but crumbles once you dive into the actual combat mechanics. Despite being labeled as a strategy RPG, the lack of being able to move twice in a turn or setup overwatch traps for your enemies leaves you with little strategic options. Could've been a great game but sadly is only mediocre at best

Easy to pick up, hard to master. Every building placement is satisfying

Still the only game you'll ever need
