I have loved Hunt for the longest time. I'm interested in the changes and stuff that have been applied and added but this UI is ABYSMAL!!! Who tf thought this was a good idea? They removed any semblance of intuitive UX design and said "Remember Call of Duty on the 360? We loved those UIs right? People want that?" Fire the person that forced the UX designers to implement this garbage. Revert this ♥♥♥♥ ASAP. For me, this new UI makes me not want to touch the game (even though I was excited for the major update) because the UI is an absolute chore to use and deal with.

This game is exceptionally fun if you ignore the "main story" and MSQ. The main story is worthless and lacking in any substance whatsoever. I can't even begin to force myself to try and appreciate any of the lore because none of it has any continuity with itself. Tons of contradictions and 90% of the game ignores the things you do or anything the main story is trying to tell. All you need to know is that you're the arisen and you gotta kill the big boss dragon at some point and that should be plenty for most people.

If a quest or main story tries to tell you that something is urgent and the game starts throwing tutorials about "you have a limited time to complete quests", ignore that entirely and look at your quest log. If it doesn't have an hourglass next to it in your quest list, do it whenever you want. Otherwise you might lock yourself out of a ton of things if you progress too quickly. These are my main complaints with DD2. Its conveyance of "story" and mechanics is so poor, it makes starfield seem like a literary masterpiece...

Beyond the above there are severe performance issues even on high end PCs. Constant frame drops, stuttering, and frame timing issues, even when you aren't in a town. Sometimes it'll go from 55FPS down to 20 for no reason then after walking around a bit suddenly it's hitting 100fps and buttery smooth. It's headache inducing, so if you're sensitive to frame timings and such, like I am, be warned.

As for microtransactions, I think it's abysmal that people are becoming so comfortable and accepting of them just because "you can get them in game without money!". That's not the point. They purposefully hid that as a "feature" and I think that's just downright scummy. This should not be the norm but I will concede that this is a minor complaint considering it's minor impact on the game, and more focus should be put on the performance issues and what's actually hindering people from enjoying DD2.

ONTO THE GOOD!

The exploration and combat are FANTASTIC!!! I was struggling with enjoyment for quite a while until I found the vocation for me and the game just lit up like the sun. I'm eager to actually play it now because I'm enjoying combat. I did get nearly soft locked at one point where I was stuck without a ferrystone in the middle of the desert, and every 5 ft was a horde of enemies and bosses that would kill my group instantly over and over. Somehow I managed to escape that hell.

The game is absolutely flawed, but if you find your sweet spot for gameplay and you dive right in once you find it, you'll love the game. DD2 isn't for everyone and I don't think I could ever recommend it to someone unless they're already going into it knowing what's to come or they're a fan of DD1, but I'm enjoying myself where I can so there's that at least.

CAPCOM! Do better!

OK. They fixed it a lot quicker than I anticipated. Still some kinks to work out so if that bugs you, wait another week or so for another hotfix. Otherwise, this game SLAPS. Genuinely fun and a good time. SO much content too. Worth the price tag 100%

Edit: Just beat the main story. This game opens up loke a portal to another world. There is almost an endless amount of things to do with quests and jobs and upgrades. It's basically GBF minus the gacha as an ARPG. PLEASE GET THIS GAME!!!

Subscription based BS and installs Ubisoft Connect without consent. Ubisoft alone should be enough of a red flag. Seriously just go play Trackmania United

ok this game actually rules. It's like Frostpunk but in space, and the scale just feels far greater BECAUSE it's in space. Honestly I'm only 2/6 sectors unlocked but I am absolutely loving this game. It is more than worth the non-sale price tag. GET IT!

Early Access Review
It's pretty fun. Feels a bit tough to justify 50 dollars though. I think 40 is the max I'd pay for this game. I feel the Freelancer vibes in it and I love that part of it, but melding the looter shooter aspects into it feels a little ham fisted. I do recommend giving the game a chance though, even if it's a bit slow in the beginning.

I would enjoy it more if dogfights lasted longer and things didn't feel so heavy hitting just to speed up combat. The result of this makes it feel like I'm rushing through quests and things just to move on when the game has a solid foundation to make combat really enjoyable.

TL;DR Good game. Fun. probably get on sale as I think it's at best a 40 dollar game. Happy flying, Freelancers.

It's legitimately boring and the first boss is an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Like...this is probably just a "mad cause bad" situation, but when there is bragging about how it's the hardest first boss in any soulsborne game, you're just being a ♥♥♥♥ about it. Also the first boss is nearly 2 hours in so by the time you peak your frustration and disinterest with the game, you may not be able to refund it.

Additionally FPS locked at 60, vignette is overpowering it's like tunnel vision, and there's no ultrawide support. It's freakin 2022. Get the ♥♥♥♥ with it, FromSoft.

Easily the best free to play game on the market. The sheer amount of content and love put into this game is staggering that I constantly find myself shocked the game is free to play. The New War alone is a solid 6+ hour experience of absolutely unique proportions and they didn't charge you a dime for it. IT'S SO GOOD!
