As an avid fan of Stoic, I couldn't be happier with what they've done here. An immersive and beautifully-designed gem of a game, the second Banner Saga improves upon the first in virtually every category. The music and art are gorgeous (as should be expected), and the writing is thoroughly engrossing, with new characters and unexpected plot points that continue to flesh out the compelling world of the Banner Saga. The gameplay is also enhanced by new win conditions, destructable obstacles, and unit classes, which together add considerable variety and depth to an already-robust combat system.

If you liked the Banner Saga 1, you'll love this one. 9/10

Mirror's Edge is one of my all-time favorite games. It's one that I just keep coming back to, even after having completed it many times.

The soundtrack, expertly crafted by Solar Fields, is a standout. The art direction is one of the most interesting and unusual I've seen, seamlessly combining sterile utopian architecture with bold, modern color. The gameplay is mostly very fresh and enjoyable, but not entirely without problems.

A common criticism is the combat system, which is somewhat poorly designed. This was never an issue for me, since I realize that the protagonist, Faith, is trained as a runner, not a fighter. Running should be, and almost always is, the best way out of sticky situations. The levels are also sometimes said to be too linear, but there are actually lots of alternative paths to find, if the player is willing to think outside the box.

The campaign is short (about 8 hours) - a decent speedrunner can complete it in less than an hour. The story is also a bit sparse; but the dialogue, for the most part, is well written and voiced.

Although it has its faults, Mirror's Edge stands out as one of the most unique, exhilarating, and visually striking games of its generation. I highly recommend it.
