How have I not known about this?

Without a doubt the best RTS out there. Cherry on top for being open source.

Very fun RTS with phenomenally creative features that are always expanding.

Only con is like all other games these days - just wish it would update faster.

Early Access Review
To preface, I played the early access build which I got access for being a competitive player in another VR game, Onward.

The game itself is pretty fun and reminiscent of Counter Strike, but in a more competitive atmosphere than Pavlov. However, I still struggle with finding what it has to offer over Pavlov or Onward.

Eventually the game's creators began pushing an NFT verse surrounding Vail VR. That's about when I said "no" to this game. Now there's skin microtransactions and in-game currencies because I'll assume that route didn't work. Just can't recommend it really.

EDIT: Somebody in the development team reached out to me about this review. I redownloaded the game and will be playing it to reconsider what I've written here. That interaction is unexpectedly leaps and bounds above the other games I've spent my time in and that deserves looking at this experience again.

Honestly a great game. The fact that you can pick things up and use them as environmental hazards is a unique concept applied pretty well here. A lot of the verticality is awesome and some buildings that house the capturable point are destroyable, so that's fun. There's clearly a high skill gap here if you can leverage all of these mechanics together - speed and being clever makes monkey brain happy.

The maps are kinda eh. I'm not sure if I like the whole "everything is a compact skyscraper while also being a city block apart but with ziplines in between" or the "dystopian dyson sphere houses mega sport featuring an italian village" themes.

The gun combat and the game modes are probably the worst parts. I'd say both would benefit hugely from something akin to Counter Strike - spray patterns with high damage rewards, rounds with the ability to purchase weapons with the in-game points earned.

That's about it. The core gameplay here is fun - the pacing, moving, shooting, and the complimentary pipe bombs floating in the air with your elder scrolls levitate magic made me come back to give it a thumbs up. There's something good here. Read the other reviews man, I don't know.

Battlebit is nothing like other FPS shooters you've liked, and yet all the good parts of them combined.

My only complaints are the sniper glint is a bit too extreme, making snipers far too vulnerable. The guns are also too high of a level, and the blackhawks get shot down too easily but that's not really a problem with a good solution.

The gunplay is great, things kick and feel like they should, some sounds match the expectation of the graphics so your hopes aren't let down, but others genuinely make you feel like you're in a warzone.

Bottom line, if you expect Roblox then be prepared to be blown away by Call of Bad Company 3
