The video game industry just isn't what it used to be. With huge game corporations releasing underwhelming title after underwhelming title, we're all pretty much forced to leave our only hopes to indie developers to release something good. But even then, often times these indie releases are a hit or miss, leaving you with anything that ranges in quality from Pizza Tower to Mighty Number 9.
It feels like there aren't any good games anymore.
But then there's Fishy2.
A sequel better than the first and quite frankly a masterpiece.
How?
Allow me to explain.

Fishy2 wastes no time and just throws you right into the game. No gameplay mechanics the game obsesses over, no unskippable cutscenes, no pesky tutorials. Just pure 3D platforming, plain and simple. The game's controls are the same as it's predecessor, so if you're familiar with Fishy's physics and controls, you'll have no trouble understanding this game.

Fishy2 boasts a surprisingly large amount of content, with 150 levels to boot (125 more than the first!). While the levels themselves are short and sweet, their minimalist and asset-efficient designs make them always a blast to speedrun, adding tons of replay value. Besides, beating all of the levels takes (usually) about an hour and a half, so I'd say the game's a good way to pass time.

While the price tag may seem a bit steep, I assure you that it's actually a reasonable price. Maybe I'm just saying this because I got the game during a sale when it was 90% off, but the game was worth it either way. Personally though, I'd say the game should have a price of the same $1 I paid myself rather than the current $10, maybe $5 at most.

Since the game's music hasn't been mentioned yet, I'd like to point out that while the songs aren't exactly something I'd listen to in my spare time (except the menu theme), they're loads better than the first game's 10, maybe 5 second loops.

When I originally saw Fishy, I first played it as a joke before the concept and execution of the game had grown on me. I then bought Fishy2 not long after, and realized something when playing the game.
Not all games have to be "good".
Sometimes, it's better to play a "bad" game than a "good" one, because sometimes the "bad" one will keep you more entertained than the "good" one. Often times I'll play through a AAA game and keep a straight face the whole time, unmoved by the special effects and long cutscenes developers added in a futile attempt to hide the underwhelming quality of their lackluster product - I'm just playing the game and that's it. But when playing a game like Fishy2, it's an enjoyable and fun experience that I can actively participate in as the player to fully enjoy. The enjoyment of playing and beating a supposedly "bad" game is something better to be experienced than explained, but one thing that can be told from it is that it's a feeling much better than going through a "good" game everyone else has been praising.
Many people may not see the hidden beauty of Fishy2, but I think I've found it.
Fishy2 is a work of art, and nobody can tell me otherwise.

originally started playing this as a joke because i was bored, but after beating all of the levels (bonus ones included), the game grew on me. Fishy is truly nothing short of phenomenal, and while it may have been made by 1 person on Unity, the game actually isn't too bad. Would love to see more of this game, as well as the OST being turned into actual songs rather than 5 second loops. on the topic of the music, I must say that the only flaw it has is the very short duration they have before looping, which ends up making them sound like jingles rather than songs (also if they get turned into full duration songs, could they be uploaded to bandcamp or something?). i now unironically like this game. thank you Fishy.
