Game is absolute banger.
It has nice concept of you not as super soldier, but as a scavenger trapped in middle of war.
Strictly PVE. If you like extraction, survival, shooter, sci-fi, get this game.

If you like:
-Shooter
-Survival
-Sci-fi
-Post apocalyptic theme
-Simple Extractor shooter
-Semi-Looter shooter
-Dark/alternate future
-Stealth
-Overwhelming odds
-PVE (no PVP stress)

Get this game!

FOR THE EMPEROR

Brutal fights, parry system, counter system, solid movement and shooting mechanics, cool armor.

Will add more as I progress.

NPC Is 60-70% useful. They deal satisfying damage and contributed to battle. Shame we cannot command them to focus on a specific annoying target.

Some familiar elements from another game:
+Almost similar to Gears of War style, fight and vibe. Veteran players will enjoy something familiar. Too bad it doesnt have cover system.
+Souls-like element: parry combat allows you to engage in enemy one on one (also lock on).

So far in the game I find it lack in gameplay variety, all we do is engaging in direct combat and just shoot or melee. We need more variety like in Gears of War (riding tanks, or riding creature in GOW 1, riding vehicles, tank combat, vehicular combat, even in SM 1 we have ship-gunner combat) or Stealth-ish playstyle (like in GOW 1 avoiding Berserker, avoiding the bats at night, avoiding the dormant robots). SM 2 needs more variety.

It's a beautiful game. This game has, and if you like these aspects, get them:

1. Open world (this game has 3 major parts where it has open world and 3 linear. 3 open world has different theme.)
2. Hidden Consequences Mechanics (if you do something during open world, it has some impact to your story and ending)
3. You can go stealth or guns blazing
4. You are free to explore, or straight to the mission.
5. Manage resources: you have limited ammo (searchable and craftable) so make every shot counts.
6. Immersion and freedom : you are free to go anywhere you want, whatever style you want, how long you want to tackle it.

If you like shooter, stealth, open world game, post apocalyptic setting, and a good story, get this game.

Finally a decent base building, sim management, and medieval game town management where workers actually doing something useful (instead of me working) they can gather, research, help gather resources for your construction, and help fight.

If you like colony management base building, this game is for you. You can let workers collect stuff and they will build it. The downside is the gameplay is slow, you can focus all your worker's focus on specific job tho so it will complete faster.

The only cons:
-Combat movement is slow and janky
-Day to day activity can be slow and bore, especially the research, crafting, gathering.

Recommended to get on sale.

A very similar concept with DnD but with big differences. I love DND but DB is also a good game.

Here is what DB have:
+Faster and more fluid combat (movement and speed)
+Damage indicator
+Flashier skill
+FREE MULTIPLE CHARACTER SLOT (main reason)
+Better UI and
+Instant fast and easier party system (autofill and fast)
+Better graphics
+Better simpler menu
+Not too dark
+More enemy varieties
+Easier extraction: dynamic exit warp is randomized and easy to find, there's also fixed escape. Dynamic exit encourages exploration even the time is almost running out.
+Easier to find teammates with autofill feature

-Money is easy to gain, but potions are expensive. But, they give materials to craft free potion.
-Starting equipment is very standard and you dont get free potions from merchant
-Skills are somehow limited. Cleric in DNDhas 5 buffs, whereas in DB you only got 2 buffs.

Changed my review after 50% sale on Steam. Ignore the 'PRODUCT RECEIVED FOR FREE' cause I played the demo.

Honestly at it's core, it's actually a good game.

If you like:
Open world game
Action RPG
Fantasy
Medieval setting

What I Like:
-Randomly generated/radiant mini quest (be it escort, civilian under attack in a forest)
-You can do, and be whatever you want. You wanna be knight, escorted with full team ? Sure go ahead.
Wanna go alone as thief? Sure you can. Full ranger pawn? Go ahead. You can mix and match
your roleplaying fantasy world needs to do whatever you want!
-Beautiful world
-Beautiful city

Get this game!

WARNING BEFORE PLAYING:
This game requires high-end gear either it's heavy or its unoptimized.

This GAME HAS MISSABLE QUEST - be it timed quest, or if you are presented with opportunity but do nothing about it, the quest will fail. If you are playing this game without guide or just enjoy as it is, be mindful that some quests are easily skippable and locks you out of that quest FOREVER and until your start over to NG+. Some quest needs you to do certain stuff and done some prerequisite quest first that is NOT always explicitly and clearly stated first. Ive had 2 to 3 quests that skipped. Suggestion: google missable quest in dragons dogma 2 you will see quests name

Example (non spoiler):
-If you not unlocked the quest yet, and you arrive at certain city that is different, you will miss a romance questline, totally locking you out of that interaction/quest (quest name , partially hiden: readvent / related to romance NPC)
-If you have that Quest active, but dont go at certain location : quest finished but has different outcome (quest name partially hidden: candle in storm)
-If you do nothing during an ongoing mission (this one is clearly stated what we must do) you will miss the reward but the story progresses on (Quest name, name partially hidden : Gigantus)
-Certain NPC can die and locks you out of the said quest if you don't stand by and defend them and it may have different outcome. (quest is the one about sclupture)

Point is:some quest are NOT ALWAYS INDICATED THAT IT CAN PROGRESS ON OR SKIPABLE WITHOUT YOU PARTICIPATING.

Be careful on your save: some action will OVERWRITE your manual save like reloading to inn-save which means you re-start at the start of the day.

Tips:
1. You can always replay on NG+
2. BACKUP saves, multiple saves. As reference, google "dragons dogma 2 missable quest"
