I normally really like short games like this and would recommend but not in this case.

I beat this game in under 12 minutes and although I enjoyed it, it isn't worth the full price ($2.99). I'd recommend getting it on sale but there is one giant issue you should be aware of. There is a broken achievement so you can't get 100%. The achievement "Launch the Game" doesn't work so I'm forever stuck at 9/10 completed.

It's an interesting concept, but it isn't fun to play.

My first play through was 17 hours. It's a neat game that scratched a very specific itch. It was totally worth the full price for me. If the description and videos tickle your mindset I say buy it and play it and quit reading reviews and opinions from other players and go experience it yourself. I love the combination of expanding and defense, mob killing and harvesting resources and processing. There are a lot of ways to approach the game and redo your designs and expand and optimize the field, even expand across multiple islands in crazy ways.

Although it was already on my wish list, I bought it when I watched Real Civil Engineer (on YouTube) play for 3 minutes and knew I need to play this game ASAP.

However, it isn't really Factorio meets tower defense, other than there are conveyor belts and new things to build to progress. The 17 hours I played were great but there isn't that Factorio replay again and try something different appeal. It's lack of achievements is a downside also, because it doesn't suggest any game play approach alternatives to try out.

It's got some rough spots like being unable to control or understand or visualize where the output goes once buildings are placed. When you get to liquids, it's even worse because I couldn't tell if things were actually working or not. There is a major bottleneck when you start producing yellow potions. I did a lot of calculating to figure out how to up my dragon kill tooth farming timing but it was useless. I also wish there were more options to "Buy Islands" in a more general sense, other than just two, like let me buy an islands next to my existing ones. I would have loved to buy another worm island, even if it was expensive, so I didn't have to remap everything on my one worm island. I feel like the island expansion options could be great, even at the compounding costs that are buying more towers, but I understand the game design choice to move the player forward. In my first play through my third "Buy Island" was an empty island, which was very confusing and I thought maybe something was bugged. Turns out it's not a bub, it's a quite valuable island but I didn't use it until much later, but when I did it really worked a treat. (It was south of my worm island, and since worms die with a simple two poison tower setup I dedicated their entire island to worm spawners with an elaborate maze on the 2nd empty island ending with poison. But all the way along their path was pressure plates to produce electricity, it was glorious. Though a large portion of my harvested resources fell into the nothingness because of my design choices, it was really fun. Though my worm harvesting, even with this elaborate kill box setup, still felt limited. )

My biggest issue with my first play through was understanding what went wrong. If a mob makes it to it's tower you get a warning that tells you the mob type that made it through, but I swear it doesn't make a sound and is very easy to miss. So a number of my "fails" where I died meant I didn't know why or where things went wrong, so when I would continue I would just watch for the warning to die again. This should could easily be solved by telling or showing the player where the mob killed you.

I've written enough. It's fun but flawed, but that's ok and still worth the asking price.

A nice, short game with an OK story. It looks really nice. Voice acting is good. The game play is bad. Don't play it for the shooting. It was worth the few bucks I spent on it.

The game mechanics aren't very good, and it isn't "fun". The shooting is dull and has no feel, there is no cover system or grenades or fluid 3rd person shooter mechanics to make it fun. You can tell when you will shoot and hit an enemy because their health bar shows. The hover-bike is really horrible.

Played for 4.7 hrs, 100% achievements.

I really enjoyed this. It's sort of like work, but work I like.

There are some bottlenecks, but I was able to solve them. Part of the fun was making sure everything kept up in the chain. The interface isn't the best at helping you here, but you get to know it and can deal.

If I were to request a few features they would be a world map for easier navigation, some quick buttons for jumping to different mission areas, and a way to add resources to the list at the top so you can keep a closer eye on them, and then maybe way to modify the link curve or maybe a divert type small node that could help with link shaping, and maybe some color adjustments like graying out the node if it doesn't have resources instead of the question mark icon (it's almost invisible on yellow nodes).

I had to look at the discussion forums for a few things, like having the lumber plant trees, but nothing too crazy.
