If anybody knows of any single other game that can provide me with this much freedom and narrative development to build/grow/play anyway that I want to, by all means, please list it here.

But I haven't found one yet.

Couldn't ask for a better co-op experience.

-Combat feels great and is fast-paced
-Map generation makes every cave feel different and provides it's own challenges
-The feeling of camaraderie with your team is very well infused throughout the dwarves' dialogue
-Collecting minerals is challenging and a fun problem to solve with your class's unique utility items and abilities
-For solo players, it's entirely possible to delve deeply and greedily without a team complement
-Character customization is fantastically detailed and variable
-The space rig provides several mini games while you wait to begin a new mission, and the beer buffs are both fun to use and collect, and beneficial to your entire team
-The community is helpful and informative, and patient with new players

Overall, I'm incredibly surprised at how much love and attention has gone into Deep Rock. Games like this just aren't made today, as most publishers and studios want to make the biggest bucks with the least investment. DRG has had some serious care and thought put into it, and I'm eagerly waiting to see where it goes next.

TL;DR
Good game. Fun with pubs, friends, or solo. Worth a buy now.

ROCK AND STONE, BROTHERS.

Just play the game. If you can get past the dated textures, you'll kill hundreds of hours of your life riding into battles with impossible odds alongside your comrades, screaming death and planting your banner atop the hill of enemy corpses.

Also, it's the closest you'll ever get to leading a medievel army. You won't regret picking this up.

PROS: Fun and competitive game concept with balanced and accurate melee system
Perks are well balanced for an E-sports scene
Animations are great for an early access title
Availibility of weapons is proportionately appropriate to game length
New maps already confirmed, with potential for more perks and weapons as well as survival factors like cold/heat

CONS: Some spawns leave players with great advantage or disadvantage
Currently only 2-man teams in multiplayer, though other game modes have been confirmed for the future
Occasional optimization issues (FPS drops, slow loading on startup/shut down, disconnects) although I have experienced none of these personally
One week into early access and already several hacks have emerged, **needs immediate developer attention**
Potential for game-breaking cash/item shop institution, an immediate no-buy if that happens

FINAL EVALUATION: I wanted to give this game a 9/10, but because of the available hacks and the frequency with which I encounter them, I can't give it better than a 7. Without immediate correction I think the player base will dissolve within 3 months, HOWEVER if an anti-cheat is effected in time and the issue is resolved, the game has nowhere to go but up. Best potential in a PvP game I've seen since DayZ Arma2 mod. I recommend it for 15$.
