This game's popularity is a testament to the fact that good graphics are not enough (looking at you BF).

It is a decent game with very nice graphics. It's a short game and I wouldn't expect it to become a mainstay title for most, but that is not a bad thing. For me it served as nice break from my got-to titles and I enjoyed fighting for Rome.

The Peace Conference is broken and broken badly. I have been puppeted as Greece without losing a single soldier, because Germany took over Belgium which was in a different faction. This really takes the fun away as playing anything not historical is broken.

A really great WWI shooter. Although I would not call it a simulator, it is much more realistic than some of the most popular shooter titles. The only real downside is the relatively small number of players, which means that you often play with many bots.

A wonderful sandbox style game. Crusader Kings II combines Grand Startegy with roleplay in a great and fun way. The only downside is loads of micromanagement in late game which should be streamlined, but isn't. It is also worthwhile to note that at this point playing the game without all the dlc's does not feel right, as the game mechanics have been tweaked to work alongside the expansions. Other that that, if you are able to get a bundle of dlc's at a discount then it is a must have.
