I am pretty darn conflicted about this game— at one moment you can handle bad situations, the wealth of skills and talents that you can unlock help you adapt and stay alive. It’s difficult, but not impossible. However- 60/70 percent of the time enemies are coming from five different locations at once, and you can’t do anything. Compound this with the fact the game isn’t giving you better weapons as you level up, making it difficult to fight enemies 3 levels below you. Also did I mention that the enemies are 98-99 percent accurate, have super human reflexes/reaction time, have 20 times more health than you, and can see around corners and through walls?

TLDR; ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horrible ai, super grindy game, ♥♥♥♥ you ubisoft for basically everything. don’t buy

Broken, glitched and doesnt even give you a tutorial on how to do ANYTHING.

It's a great game, it just doesnt feel like Pac-Man

Hard, sometimes frustrating, but over time you can develop real skill, and it becomes a whole new game.

Addendum: Very cool looking and solid framerates.

This game looks amazing until you realize you have a top of the line pc and you get framerate issues and visual tears. This games mechanics look cool until you realize that buttons don't respond and the gameplay is glitchy. This games story looks gripping until you realize the story is delivered through 30fps 2D animated cutscenes, which isnt good in the first place.

You may notice that I have 20 or so hours on mirror's edge. 10+ of those hours have been spent trying to get past this single cutscene where you had to do three actions in less than 100 frames. 10 hours I aint getting back.

The only really good thing I can recollect is the environment and locations are stunning. Well, hardly when the game has visual tears and 30fps. Buy an indie game, or a classic like Half-Life, for cryin out loud!

The game looks fun, and dont get me wrong, some aspects are fun. Getting a "Break"(what does that even mean) Combo and seeing all of the ships being blown up. The cool boss battles. But the other 90 percent of this game is uninspired, badly made, badly written, and/or stale. Don't get me started on the frankly gross talking heads that reprisent "characters". They are about as far away from characters you can get. Badly written lines, no story and so badly made that seriously they NEED to hire a new graphic designer. Well, ya might say, it's an action game for being action game's sake. It doesn't need a story. And, well, it just might be better without a story. The game is a really overused concept, the "shooty the thingies to save the world" trope, executed badly. No, scratch that. Horribly. As worse as possible.

Bottom Line(TL:DR): If you want a shmup that has great game mechanics and executed well, along with replayability and hours of real fun don't buy this game. Games like Ikaruga or Radiant Silvergun are way better (an understatement), even though they are more expensive then the couple cents they are selling this flaming piece of horse poop.
