So a trap a man (or sometimes woman, known as a reverse trap) who cross dresses in a manner that makes them almost indistinguishable from a girl (or guy if they are a girl) appearance wise (they are not trans because they do not change their gender). There goal is to trick another man (or woman) into falling for them.

Is it inherently gay to trap if the person trapping may not be looking to find a same sex romance, but rather just want to trick someone else sexually. And if someone is trapped, does that make them gay. In what scenarios is the trapped person gay.

I have had long debate with friends about this, and havn't come to a clear answer, so your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 17, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because this kid gave me cancer anyway.
