Hey everyone,

first of all, don't mind how many hours Steam shows I have played because it is wrong. I played this game at least 300+ hours and have a 178 ranked character.

Now, I have started playing this game a few years ago and I have always had troubles with it.

It is a game you really want to love but you can't and I will tell you now why.

THE GOOD

+ Character creation and customization
The game has an amazing character creation and plenty of customization options that I have yet to seen a better version in similar games.

+ Cars
There are enough number of cars to keep the variety and they can be customized as well.

+ Customization and personification
The game both in its character creation and car customization offers enough tools to create your own unique look in the game.

THE BAD

- Lack of new content
Since the time I started playing this game, it hasn't changed much at all.
It has basically only a few game modes that have stayed the way they are for a very very long time.

- The story
The game does have a story at the beginning but it is non-existant through out the rest of the game. Of course you can't expect a rich story from this kind of a game but since it doesn't have much else to offer, it could be nice to at least have a story.

- Server issues and lag
The game has been and still is barely playable with its sever issues and constant lags. It has suffered from these problems for a long period of time and unfortunately it doesn't get any better. This makes especially driving a horrible experience since they are server based.

- Premium membership and cash shop
The game suffers from unbalanced premium weapons which are overpowered compared to in-game weapons.

- Graphics
The graphics are not too bad and could be overlooked if the game had a solid gameplay and at its current state they look dated.

CONCLUSION

The game has a lot of potential but unfortunately it doesn't do muchto explore the possibilities both in its gameplay and story. Apart from having an excellent character creation and customization, the game unfortunately doesn't have very much to offer with its repetitive gameplay.

I will be totally honest with you here.

I played Dead Island and I liked it because of many reasons but most importantly it was fun. I normally don't like zombie games, I never liked Left 4 Dead and other zombie games. I don't even play a lot of MOBAs.

When I heard about this game I thought: "Wow, awesome; another Dead Island game, it will be great! " Then I looked how it looked like and I was pretty dissappointed because it was not really a Dead Island game at all and it looked like they just used its name and success to sell another game.

Later I started playing the game and in the tutorial I said to myself, well this has nothing to do with Dead Island [insert sad face here].

I finished the tutorial and started playing the actual game which is multiplayer only by the way and I was astonished! I was really surprised that despite its differences the game was just as enjoyable as previous Dead Island games but only delivering it in a different way. It is a lot of fun and it is really different from other multiplayer games around these days. I usually don't play FPS multiplayer or competitive MOBA games and this game is really filling in the empty space left for other genres. Yes, it looks like too familiar but it is really crafted with passion and mastery and it is still being developed further.

Developers are also engaging with the playerbase regularly which is a very good sign for a game.

Additionally even though the game will be free to play once it goes out of Closed Beta, it is by no means a pay to win game and it doesn't have any restrictions for players who prefer to play it for free. It is really hard to find these kind of approaches in the free to play games industry these days.

To keep it short, don't cut it out as another clone because it really is not. Just give it a try and if you discover that you like it, enjoy the game; if not well each to her/his own ;)

tl;dr It is not Dead Island that's for sure but it deserves a second look and the game is really fun!

+ it doesn't have free to play restrictions if you choose not to pay
+ characters are balanced
+ nice graphics and unique art style

- it doesn't have any negative parts ;)
