Sony backtracked the PSN linking, the community banded around this incredible cooperative experience where helldivers fight for democracy and super earth. The community made their point, helldivers dive together or they dont dive at all.

To think that a game that teaches you to organize and complete impossible challenges together as a global community would teach that same community to defend against a megacorporation that would disable access to the very community that loves the game is like poetry.


This as of May 6th is no longer relevant but will stay here as a reminder how a publisher treats their consumers.

Sony retroactively change the terms and conditions after the game became popular which would force users to create a sony account. PSN is available in 69 our od 190 countries, VPNs are against TOS. Also some countries require you to provide your picture and ID for verification or are unable to link the account to steam.

By threatening to withhold access to the game after the fact Sony Entertaiment has created a situation where people are coerced to give up their personal information to keep access to the game. GDPR clearly states that it has to be voluntary to give up your personal information and GDPR violations of data minimisation which states and cannot collect or retain personal information that is not necessary for the service.
The game did not require a sony account to play the game therefore it is not necessary to play the game.
Since we have all been playing the game on Steam since launch without a PSN account we can definitely say that no further data collection is required.

The game is great by itself but when they ban everyone who cannot link a psn account there wont be a community to play with anymore. What a waste of a good game with a passionate dev team.

Check this map, if you live anywhere that is not blue and the EU nevermind it being blue you will probably have issues with the changes sony implemented, Polish players cannot link accounts as an example, some players from CN and RUS get banned when trying to link their accounts.

Its Ace Combat, pretty much the only arcade flight game with amazing music and gameplay made with the heart and soul of the most passionate dev team in the industry that lets you joust airborne knights to the sound of spanish guitar and opera music or shoot down crazy superweapons. Looks great, plays great, runs great on almost any system. The game is an experience and it will leave you sweating not knowing should you take a shower or continue playing just to beat that on boss just to do that tunnel run a second faster.
Search "daredevil" as the ac7 ost and imagine going 3000+ km/h while shooting missiles and reacting to stuff in the blink of an eye while hearing your mates talk ♥♥♥♥ and the alarm while trying to dodge 10000 rockets from a aerial aircraft carrier.

I got the game for 30€ with all the DLCs and i feel guilty for it and as soon as they let us preorder 8 ill be buying that one too
