Still got them bugs, but they continue to work on it. Many advantages to playing this over the physical version (Like actually being able to play it consistently). So many characters and so many levels. You'll have triumphant victories and devastating losses but that's Gloom

Great metroidvania, evolved the first game to focus a lot more on mobility and exploration and it's overall way more polished. It's also significantly easier and may have some balancing issues with the 3 weapons which may bug some people. Hooked me enough to get me to plow through to 100% completion in under a week so it for sure gets the recommendation.

Made me physically ill

This game is ok, but it does not go very far with the rogue-like genre. Not enough level variety and not nearly enough item/ability synergy. It feels more like a Shovel Knight game you have to keep playing over and over. But Shovel Knight is great, and I had a fun time playing through to the end a few times. I just don't feel that addicting pull of "1 more run" I get with other rogue-likes and I don't feel motivated to jump through all the hoops to get the true ending.

Fun, addictive, unfinished. I'm sure this game will get the same love Isaac did in time but right now it needs work. But the core gameplay is there, and it's very fun.

RIP 3 is the kind of game I thought would never exist - one where every minute gameplay detail has true purpose. Its story telling goes beyond any other game I have ever played, and the resulting emphasis on my story, my tales of Action, easily make it my favorite in the series. There have certainly been action games that have given me a bigger world to roam, or more little icons to chase on my minimap, but none have pushed me to plan, adapt, and improvise the way this one does. RIP 3 doesn’t just respect my intelligence as a player, it expects it of me, putting it in a league that few others occupy.
