Early Access Review
Got this because my kid wanted to play with a friend and I figured I'd play with them as well.

...I've probably spent more time playing it myself than with them.

There are better open world games, but Max Mad is very solid and has some of the best driving combat in video games.

Old-school Dwarf Fortress has really deep gameplay and technically has graphics.
RimWorld has deep gameplay (but not quite as deep as DF) and basic graphics.
Stranded has really basic gameplay and...okay graphics, it's 3D...but that's about it.

I think it sacrifices too much in terms of gameplay just to be in 3D, which honestly is not helpful a lot of the time; it's just one more dimension. I feel RimWorld has the best balance of these colony survival games.

Overall the game feels like it should still be in Early Access. Building anything other than boring rectangular rooms is difficult and not really rewarding. Rooms have a "recommended size" but it doesn't seem to really matter; the tutorial even instructs you to create rooms below the recommended size. The tutorial was a chore to get through and there isn't much game play in the game play loop.

I think the top achievements completed by % of all players at time of writing this gives a good idea of how unfun the game is:

* Complete the tutorial - 28.2%
* Complete a mission - 24.4%
* Experience a protest/raid - 8.0%

So, 70% of players couldn't get through the tutorial.
Only 1/4 of players got through the first few minutes of the actual game.
And 90% didn't find the core game play loop fun enough to get past the early game.

I love doing nonograms and especially 3D ones; the base game has quite a bit of content. And it looks like there is tons more player created content.

This is one of those games where you just get lost for hours playing one level making everything is just right.

It's not the most complex game, but it's fun, enjoyable, and really amusing. Also, the free updates seem to be coming at a decent pace!

Great game overall. Exactly what Monster Hunter should have been the whole time.
