Against the Storm is a game that has repeatedly impressed me with each major update, adding more and more content that both expands the world, and give interesting choices.
As someone that are familiar with city builders but often feel that they can become too needlessly complex, the game play loop of solving immediate problems, planning for the future, and gauging how likely you are to get the blueprints you think you might need creates an experience that is both surprisingly relaxing and increasingly complex until you either win or lose, at which point the experience begins anew. It removes the stress of trying to keep everything rolling forever.
I cannot recommend this game enough.

They've done a lot to make the game enjoyable both as an easy dive for new players and ramp up difficult for those that want a real challenge. The cosmetics are varied for good personalisation, and the Overclocks provide an actual change in how you use the weapon at the Unstable levels, making for more interesting effects that make you feel really good when used correctly.

Where to even begin...You like action games? You get to fight all sorts of creatures, using everything from the environment(sometimes that means carnivorious plants and freacking battering rams) to freezing them and using gravity to see them shatter.
More of a puzzler? Well this game is also a puzzle-game, where each puzzle can be cleared in a variety of ways, depending on how well you know the characters limitations, abilities and the local environment.
Oh, but if the game is so good and you like it, the graphics must be sucky as hell right?
♥♥♥♥ no, this game got so lovely graphics it's not even funny, it's like a angelic choir of 3d-goodness for your eyes, every new map unique in it's environment.
The only drawback this game has? It's too short. And even that they balance out by having a Hardcore mode and actually hard to achieve achievements, AND on top of that, dlc adding another storyline(albeit not as long).
In short, get it, now, this instance.
