Absolutely fantastic game despite the graphics (and let's be honest, the price.) Every tower has a very unique 'style', usually involving multiple intertwined mechanics. For example, one tower provides you with a bunch of items that swap your attack and defense, and has enemy stats set such that either a defensive or offensive approach is obviously better, hence the name of 'Choice'. This is the surface level gameplay of that tower. However, there are additional unique mechanics to this tower that will quickly become obvious. The first is the fact that all enemies regardless of their strength provide the same amount of experience; thus in general killing stronger enemies first is ideal since they drop better items. The second is that the tower contains both pickups that boost your experience gain as well as those that double your current multiplier. Thus, you would want to pick up as many flat bonuses before grabbing the multipliers to maximize your bonus. However, doing so can be difficult in the short-term since you'll be fighting enemies at a lower level than if you'd grabbed the multiplier at the first chance. Finally, fully completing the tower requires you to jump over specific key doors using a limited supply of orbs. Thus, you would want to maximize your multiplier while leaving behind as many weak enemies as possible to kill for maximum experience later with full multipliers. This is where the meta-progression shines; you're constantly optimizing routes to push harder by skipping more enemies in order to maximize your final score. More resources doesn't just allow you to steamroll through towers, it generally allows you to push harder to the most important items, and thus they never feel 'easy'. At least try out the demo, it has plenty of content.
