7.4 Hours into the game at the time of writing this review.

In the current state of this game, honestly, just go play Warframe instead.

This game is fun, at first, but VERY quickly becomes EXTREMELY repetitive. Also, I'm usually fine with grindy games, but oh my God, the amount of grinding needed in this game to acquire ANYTHING, ranging from new Descendants, to better weapons, to materials needed to get those better weapons, is asinine. There is a ten minute wait time to craft a single piece of material needed to upgrade a new weapon (a weapon that took 4 hours to research on its own BTW) so that it wasn't stuck at lvl 1 with a base DPS of 195. For comparison, at the level my character was at at the time, most of my weapons had a DPS stat of over 5,000, making the ultimate weapon that i'd crafted completely worthless unless I upgrade it. Ridiculous. There should not be this much waiting for something like a new weapon, imo.

Now for issues unrelated to gameplay itself... The script. Whoever is writing for this game, at least for its English translation, is either not actually fluent in English, or is working with an AWFUL script. So much of the dialogue comes across as stiff, unnatural, and sometimes straight up does not make sense. They also have a tendency to ramble and repeat things, over and over, while not actually explaining anything. I was paying attention to the dialogue and story for the first few hours, but gave up because listening to the droning dialogue became a chore. The lip-sync also more often than not doesn't match what is being said, like, at all.

TL;DR: Just play Warframe for now.

Even with the UI being clunky and the crafting system being a bit of a pain, I've been having an absolute blast with this game. I will say my copy is heavily modded using workshop content, though.

The visuals are very appealing, the aesthetic of the whole game is super charming, and I love it. I thought a lot of the villagers were very shallow at first, but after getting further in friendship with a few, they're a little bit more fleshed out than I thought they'd be. Still, they could have had wayyyy more dialogue to casually say whenever there's no quests to be done; it feels like they all just repeat the same four lines over and over, and it gets old very fast. Their friendship quests are interesting though.

The building is super nice in this game, I always feel satisfied after finishing a building. There's not really any overarching story, but I think it's fine the way it is... Doesn't really NEED one, if you ask me, but I wouldn't be opposed to one as long as it was optional.

The music is GREAT. I keep getting the songs stuck in my head even while not playing, and they're super relaxing.

Bug catching is neat, and a good source of revenue. Fishing, however, takes AGES and the payout feels like it's way too small compared to bug catching, which is WAY faster. Fishing isn't hard, it's just painfully slow.

Tl;dr: The game's fun if you're looking for a casual farming/building game with very little story driven content. I've been loving it, and played 76 hours so far at the time of writing this review, and that was over the course of a single week. Very fun, very cute, very addicting.

I've played the Xbox 360 version of this game before and was excited to finally get it on my gaming pc. The game looks beautiful, the story is great, the characters are very likable, the overworld is large and fun to explore, and the combat is very fun most of the time.

But god, the steam version is just unplayable currently. The minute I entered the Hinterlands near the beginning of the main game, there were problems popping up EVERYWHERE. As of the time of writing, the game is constantly freezing up in AND out of combat, having all the sound effects just suddenly stop for no reason, getting stuck loading forever, or just plain crashing. Not to mention that even though you buy the game on steam, it forces you to launch a SECOND launcher for Origin before you can launch the actual game, so you have to turn off one of the two overlays that constantly battle for dominance of the screen. What were they thinking? That's just redundant, and Origin is awful all on its own. JUST LET THE GAME LAUNCH THROUGH STEAM AND BE DONE WITH IT. There's no reason to force you to use Origin!

All in all, this game is amazing, and I love it, but this version is the WORST.

Early Access Review
This game is one of my favorite ones to play whenever I need to relieve stress after a long day, pass the time with some good clean fun, or just to have a trip down memory lane. The game does an incredible job emulating the old arcade experience many of us had as kids... the aesthetics are spot on. The games are simple, but fun and addictive, and it hasn't even been completed yet. The leaderboards serve as a nice incentive to keep playing your favorite machines over and over in order to climb the global ranks. The physics in the game generally perform very well, with a few wonky moments, mostly visible with the claw machines, where items tend to clip or rubberband a bit around the claws. The game at this time only has the birthday mode, but it is slowly but surely progressing into the full game the dev clearly wants it to be; each update so far has brought a massive improvement.

The birthday mode serves as the mode to play when you don't want to have any worries at all; no time or money management to speak of; you just go to the money-grabber if you run out of cash. Just you, the arcades, and the wide open outside world with lots of things to explore. It's very relaxing! There's a fireworks stand you can buy from, an amusement park with fun little carnival games to play, and two separate arcades with a wide variety of old-fashioned games like Ski-Ball, Claw Machines, Coin Pushers, and other classics you'd see in any real arcade. You even win tickets to get silly little prizes that can range from a glowstick to a giant plushie rasta banana. Yes, you did read that sentence correctly.

I respect the heck out of the Dev of this game, as they genuinely seem to be passionate about the wonderful game they've created, and are working hard to improve it and make it even better than it is now. Bought the game a few days after seeing the video Brutalmoose made about it, and have never regretted it. Looking forward to later major updates!

This is a wonderful place for beginners to the game-designing world, and is beautifully made with little errors.

This program includes premade events to add a little life to your games, the map maker tools are so simple to use, and the character generators allow a bit more creativity flow.

My only complaint is this: I'm unaware of how to make sprites like the characters and actors myself, and the generator is a bit too limited. It has little skin colors, few hair colors, and few colors for clothes and accessories. So that is a bit of an issue, especially if you want them to have a sort of anime-ish look to them, i.e. pink hair, purple hair, etc.

Still, despite the generator's limited options, this software is FANTASTIC. I just got it two days ago and I'm already into it because of how easy it is to use. I recommend this to anyone who is interested in making games, beginners and experts alike.
