Hullo! ChesterKhan is my main handle on the Internet at large. I am infamous for changing my ID on Steam many times, but they can all be united to that one.

First: Jesus Christ is the Truth and the Life, and His Truth is vastly more important than anything else. And this truth can be known to reside in the Catholic Church. But only God can give any man the trust - the faith - necessary to give one's life in obedience to Jesus and His Church.

Therefore, I am a Roman Catholic, and I must live like one. I do obey the Church. I do go to Mass on Sundays. I do pray and sing hymns and serve at the altar. And I do defend the Church's teachings, with zeal.

But Christ being the center of my life does not mean I can't do anything else, or that I don't enjoy anything or anyone else. The world God made is very good, and I enjoy much that is in it. Particulary I like computer-related things. I was playing the Oregon Trail, on CD, with .wav music and speech, from when I was 4. Since then I've come to enjoy many genres and flavours of game.

But probably my favourite genre of game is the medieval/ancient civilization variety. Some of my favourite games - the Civilization series, Stronghold Crusader, Cultures, Caesar III - aside from having a lot of "C"s in them, are bound up with this period of history. I like building stuff and expanding my territory and making my civilizations/cities/kingdoms grow, and there was no better time for growth than these periods of history.

So, naturally, I prefer two types of medieval-type games: city-builders, and strategy games. Caesar III and its successors are excellent types of ancient city-builders. They're like really advanced, open-ended puzzles, except people live in them, and trade, and work, and fight. Stronghold is more of an RTS, but its variety of buildings means you can make nice-looking cities, too. Still, now and again, when I have the free 3 hours open, raw RTS like Age of Empires II HD is also reinvigorating - even when I lose, as long as I lose well. If I was able to grow, expand, and make something, I'm generally happy.

Speaking of making something, I also like survival games generally. Maybe that's another reason I like ancient settings, where you're closer to nature, you're more dependent upon it. My utter favourite, hands down, has got to be Haven and Hearth. It has been developed COMPLETELY by two Swedish dudes for, like, ten years or more. It has a small, crass, but extremely fun community. It is for hard-bitten people who don't whine when they lose their stuff. But it is DAMN fun building your own little fort, where you grow your own crops; fight big, dangerous animals with an axe, a shield, and a bow-and-arrow set; mine underground and risk crushing your head in just to find metal; and so on and so-forth. I really, really like it. But it's HARD.

Beyond computer games, though, I like reading. My favourite series is the Redwall series, by Brian Jacques (RIP). I have enjoyed various mangas as well, such as Ah! My Goddess, Inuyasha, and Sailor Moon.

I'm fairly eclectic when it comes to music. I've enjoyed country (old and new), folk music, bit-tunes, Latin music, chant, even rap, among many other genres.

And while not a part of any fandom particularly, I do find myself liking the furry fandom and MLP.

If any of these things interest you, you have any questions about the Catholic faith, or whatever, please, contact me. I'd be happy to hear from you.
