Great game for early access. You can get sets of gear and decent weapons pretty quickly. Its easy to find crafting materials and healing items. There is no 'gear fear' . That being said it doesnt appear that gear really matters too much at all. At least at starting levels. Even gear that you put sockets into doesnt seem to change the outcome of a battle that much. Its all about the weapons. Its also way to easy for people to just run from you, and within 2-3 hits youre basically dead, gear or no gear. The game needs alot of refinement and more content but its pretty pleasurable game to play, id say its in the casual realm of play. Give this game time and im sure it will be even better. Going solo will lead to you getting teamed on with little to no chance of survival. There are "Freebooter" runs where you can go in, grab as much as you can and extract which is a great way of actually progressing. But yea, gear i think is mostly worthless and needs to have more of an impact. Combat needs to be refined, and the UI needs improvement. Overall i enjoy this game.

Would not recomend people to buy this game. unless you like the other two. This game has soooo many bugs in it to the point where i didnt know if i was actually progressing thru the game properly. I end up getting to the final mission to kill strelok, they give you a special weapon to kill him. and guess what? i shoot him with it and does absolutely nothing. its bugged too! didnt really surprise me really after working thru this game with all the bugs

cant tell you how many times i ran into mutants who would run at me, only to just run away and never return? it was super odd.

There are a ton of weird pathing issues IMO. there is only one way in places and one way out of places, as a result you spend most of your time just running around AKA wasting time.

Dont bother to upgrade weapons because youll basically find better every step of the way.

All the shotguns sound about the same

no visual feedback in shooting enemies. you hit them, a thin strip of blood comes out and thats it.

youll spend most of your time messin around with your bag space.

Really, it was KINDA fun and diffeerent for sure but it was really more annoying than anything to play. alot of things just dont make any sense.
