Initially when I first bought this game I wrote it off as a simple bullet hell, "but why did I keep coming back to it", I asked myself. The combinations of unlocks through the commanders and individual weapons was a satisfying combo of power creep and accomplishment. I was determined to unlock every commander and their weapons. I haven't done any completion style challenges in a game in a very long time, but, Time Wasters grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go.

side note but also important : This game is perfect for the steam deck. The 90hz refresh rate and crisp visuals with very satisfying explosions and similar effects combined for a really enjoyable experience.

For me, solid 8.5/10

Surprisingly engaging with how each level presents a new challenge. I had expected to maybe play for a couple of hours and move on, but I underestimated the possibilities in a game so simple in premise.
Rack n Slay is currently my go-to game for my deck. I play a couple rounds on a break but can easily pause and come back to it at another time without feeling completely lost when I do return.
