My initial impressions: I gave the game a try for about half an hour, and while it’s fun in its own right, I’m struggling to see the hype or justify its high price. At its core, it feels very similar to Fruit Ninja Kinect: you’re slicing objects in VR, just like you slashed fruit back in the day. To be clear, my critique isn’t about the game’s quality. Beat Saber is well-made, and I can see why people enjoy it. It even adds a few extra mechanics: you use two sabers, the direction of your cuts matters, and you have to dodge walls. But beyond that, the gameplay still feels very simple, and I can't see myself staying engaged for more than an hour. At the end of the day, it’s a good game, but for the price, I can’t help but feel that I overpaid.

Edit: I think I’m beginning to understand the game’s appeal, even if I can’t fully experience it myself. Personally, I don’t connect with musical rhythms the way most people do and I’ve never felt that sense of being “in the flow” of music. So at first, I treated the soundtrack like I would in any other game: just background noise to set the mood while I focused on the gameplay. But for those who feel a strong connection to music and can move with its rhythm, this game seems to be something else entirely. My wife says she’s never played anything as fun as Beat Saber! :)
