Really wonderful VR story/platformer/combat game. Characterization is minimal but you still care about Quill and the world she inhabits. Puzzles are just puzzly enough to be interesting but not hinder the story. I enjoy the multitasking sometimes required where I'm holding one enemy back and slashing and dodging with quill at the same time. It's a cool experience not present in games I've played before. The environments are unique and pretty, and the sound design is great. Main complaint so far is sometimes missing a jump and having to repeat parts of an area is frustrating, but that's pretty standard for a platformer. Dying doesn't carry a big penalty yet feels devastating because you've failed Quill. I'm not sure how readily accessible this would be for someone new to video games because it feels like it relies on understanding platforming and combat troops to progress (like only being able to cling to certain ledges, when to dodge/telegraphing moves). However its something I'd still be excited to introduce to non-gamer friends to show off VR.

Really loved the story and aesthetic of this game, I think it took me 4 years playing this on and off to complete it. I eventually started using a walk through any time I started feeling stuck and honestly do recommend it that way because the puzzles are not what make this game great.

It was alright, I didn't find it all that entertaining myself. Feels like a classic point and click game distilled into 45 minutes and without any story. The whole thing looks pleasant but the puzzles often don't feel connected to the environments. And the characters look interesting but don't really communicate in a meaningful way. It's unique for the current VR market but it still feels like a tech demo.

Don't be fooled by the graphics, Gemini Rue is a deep and extremely rewarding sci-fi point and click adventure. The strong suit here is obviously the story, but the interactive elements only add to the experience. By the end of the game I felt like I had not just read, but actually experienced a very thought provoking science fiction novel.

If you let yourself get drawn into the world of Amnesia (aka play with the sound up and the lights off) it's a horror experience that can't be beat.
