Its short, plays like a single stage of the main game. (among the bigger ones)

its mostly a "item hunt" in the style of metroid/metroid-vania, expect around 2 hours of gameplay and a lot of backtracking with a few secrets.

the boss fight is very good.

well deserved.

It is an unusual big effort into pushing an old engine into modern territory, overall I felt that it even held the game back in a very "that's the cool part" way.

Many pros, some cons, its still under development so its mostly feedback.

• great execution of very visceral short TTK combat
  
• lots of secrets, really.
  
• good weapon design with customizable mechanics. (add-ons and secrets)
  
• Many highly detailed levels.
  
• Enemy behavior in firefights is great.
  
• OST is top notch.

• Story exposition is ok with logs, but it might have gone too deep in that territory. (add some short cutscenes perhaps? videologs? Infomercials elaborating events before the game?)
  
• Some levels demand too much deduction for progression, adding more progression cues may be a good choice. Its clear many gave up along the way.
  
• Hand drawn art is highly inconsistent, while its a budget nitpick, it would be nice to reduce that for the final release.
  
• Sound mixing feels unusually low in volume, good for range, but odd overall.

in a "wishlist" territory, voxel enemy "models" would be great, they already seem to be 3d models so its not all that far off to actually do it.

the virtual unboxing experience alone sold me the positive review for this game.

the devs... they really get it.

fairly short, quite interesting variety of guns and enviroments.

I dont really need that, i can see the performance through other means in the desktop and whatnot.

checks wrist graph at every framedrop to see what is going on... like once every 3 minutes.


its worth every penny for the "100% stable fps OCD dudes".

Its more Serious Sam, not much to explain if you liked the previous games.

the main improvement is that the "caos bar" certainling was raised. the biggest fights are even bigger.

Recomended if you are into "Serious Sam" for a short answer.

Main caveats:

* cpu bottleneck is intense, expect heavy drops in performance even with fast cpus on select scenes.
* Some criticize that the "Siberan Mayhem" expansion is superior, and they are probably right. You may consider skipping this for that if you want a shorter "good bits only" experience.

Through high's and low's its probably the best "pick and play" VR fps available.

This is a "cod style" play to gain XP and unlock equipment type of game for the weirdos that demand stuff to unlock... that seems to be most people.

Milsim that runs better than arma 3? hell yes.

Althrough its a bit different, you can expect the mass scale organization and a lot of communication once you pick one of the good servers to play on.

probably the best pick for a milsim if you are only going to buy one. (multiplayer only!)

Easy to pick and play, and it has all the Brazilian tracks! Perhalps not the best simulation on the market but certainly the best value for the asking price.
