i'm hooked

despite a fair bit of criticisms i've had throughout my time with the dlc, i've still come out of it absolutely loving this game even more. while the ways in which fromsoft innovates upon two decades' worth of extremely extensive gameplay mechanics and impossible skill ceilings may be controversial to some, it still funnels out to be an incredibly enjoyable experience start to finish, with many of my expectations being entirely blown out of proportion in terms of boss and world design. i wouldn't say it's one of the most significant expansions to a game out there, but it's exceptionally crafted nonetheless.

2010s mobile classic. can't wait for secret exit's next iteration of this game..

for now, i'm just not a fan of the way levels and the gameplay are designed. the parallels to doom are a nice touch, but the gameplay is just not that engaging & the levels just expand too far in different directions to really make good use of pathfinding. a lot of the quests are "get to __" and no further sense of direction is given apart from a stationary map that doesn't show your current location. like others have said, i'm confused on the vision this game wants to have in terms of its genre due to so many different aspects of various genres being meshed together with mediocre fluidity.

i love new blood and ultrakill and i appreciate what they're trying to do with this game, but currently, i don't see the value for myself.

undoubtedly one of the best games of this decade. the beautifully crafted artstyle, impeccable, jaw-dropping animations, and spectacularly endearing story and character design reveal that this was more than a simple labor of love for video games - it was a culmination of the entire development team's greatest triumphs and roughest struggles in the face of the everyday corporate environment billions across the world experience. despite how things ended, thank you so much, tango gameworks. this is a masterpiece loved by millions of people who care and understand the effort it's taken to get here. wishing the team the best on their future endeavors. thank you.

the greatest, most satisfying, and immensely powerful gameplay i've ever experienced in any game, ever. one of, if not my favorite game of all time (tied w/ doom eternal). phenomenal work & the best fromsoft has to offer by far.
