Got my moneys worth of fun from it, but still I wouldn't recommend people to buy an essentially abandoned game.

Harder than expected, requires thinking and planning.
Buy if you're up for the challenge.

I really don't understand the recent influx of negative comments.
The game is out for years now, you knew what you were buying. Not to mention most got it on sale and now their begging for My Time At Portia for free is just sad...

And more to the point - yes, the game is rough around the edges, yes, it could have been better but I dare say with full responsibility - it's way better and more finished than many AAA games launched recently. If you enjoy worldbuilders with a story - try it.

It's like XCOM from 2012, just... more. More aliens, more options, them [censored] have more armor and more fun :D

It used to be a great game a few years back. World created by Obsidian, MMO experience provided by Allods team. A match made in heaven, it would seem.

I was in the beta, played avidly through first year up until the Ascension expansion. That's where a cool game suddenly became linear, dull and dumbed down to oblivion. No more strategising, prioritising quests/dungeons to expand character ect. Everything down to ONE trait. Unlocking classes got grindy and annoying. Your followers are a joke now, just click and wait and click and wait, no more picking and choosing who goes where. Not to mention there's half less of them than there used to be. My well trained combos? Yeah, well, half of the skills missing, dumbed down to one-button-mash with occasional right click. Ascension killed the game. MY.com killed the game. Plain and simple.

Spare yourself time. Go play something else.

A rare case where a remake lives up to original. Wasted a lot of time on it and probably will even more :)
