Ubisoft built a game that crashes every 15 minutes at best. I've been sticking it out because the game is genuinely fun, lots of immersion and different quests and it feels like a fun game. BUT IT WILL CRASH, randomly. I have tried every technical fix and settings/driver update i can think of and nothing works. Ubisoft doesn't give a crup either, look in the forums and you'll see them give the same canned response to everyone who has this issue. The PC port is broken. Should have bought it on console. Avoid Ubisoft products.

update: 17 hours in. I have found that deleting the folders ShaderByteCode and ShaderCache from the root folder allows a better chance of an uninterrupted session, HOWEVER, that still only gets me to a 1 in 4 chance, because the game still crashes randomly, just more spaced apart. In 17 hours of gameplay, I can count on one hand the number of times I have closed the game because I was ready for a break (usually 45-60min). Un Ac Ceptable. Avoid until patched

Early Access Review
Played for about 40 minutes so far:
Many other people have noted issues with bugs, I didn't encounter anything that was game breaking.
However my PC requires me to crater every graphical setting to low in order to get more than 30fps. YMMV.

I want this game to be fun and playable. It gives me a chance to live out my roadkill universe fantasies. The developer is responsiove and seems to be enthusastic so there is hope the game can grow beyond its current form.

But I think the project may be a little bloated with half baked features and mechanics, and a too light on optimization and playtesting.
I wish the controls were less spread out all over the keyboard by default. I don't enjoy remapping keys.

I don't regret the purchase, but I also went in expecting a broken game, so I am pleased that it is very playable, if incredibly baffling at times. Knowing you can abandon any task at any time actually helps keep my enthusiasm alive.

I appreciate the over the top character of the game I've seen so far. for example I actually laughed out loud when you pull the engine out of the car at the parking lot, literally just lifting the engine without unbolting it until it breaks out of the car XD. The vehicles are fun to drive as well, I hope there are some more larger open areas like sand dunes or parking lots to explore and hoon around in that I haven't discovered yet.

TL;DR: Looking forward to much needed major updates. has potential to be fun in a way that average gamers might enjoy.

For those who like Viscera Cleanup Simulator comes another post-capitalist dystopian job game. The developers made some poor choices when it comes to the unskippable story elements, and the pro-union message is super on the nose (this coming from a union member, "OMG Unionize" only scratches the surface of the challenges workers face today). But I can easily lose four or five hours at a time just cranking away at a big ship over multiple shifts, and I find sending the final scrap of skeleton to the furnace just as the shift whistle blows or my oxygen runs out extremely satisfying.

This game was co-written by Charles Dickens and Jules Verne and Dante Alighieri, who all got stoned and watched Firefly together one night.

TLDR: Siberian Logging Simulator 2014

Pros:
Best mud and offroad simulation, period.
Excellent models of Soviet-era trucks, suspension and gearboxes all respond in a realistic way
Optimization: On Intel chips, this game can run with basically any graphics set, even integrated.

Cons:
No cockpit pov (though stated by the developers will be added in the future)
That wouldn't be much of an issue except for:
The current camera is the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ one I have seen in a game, ever. It's almost as frustrating trying to look at what you're about to run into as getting stuck in the mud is.
Lack of diversity on missions and game modes. Currently hauling lumber from point A to B is the only thing to do on the map, though between the mud, crossing rivers, and running out of gas, you can sink two hours into completing a map easily.

Ultimately, it was worth $30 for me because I've been watching this game for a long time. If you're looking for a thought-provoking story (or a mindelss one), it doesn't exist in this game. If you're looking for flashy 10,000 point combos and click-to-win type scenarios, this isn't one.

IF however, you have an interest in big trucks, off-roading, exploration, logistics, and physic simulation, all of those things are in this game. The developers have made it clear that this game will be updated and expanded in the future, and though it will never be GTA in the forests of Siberia, it can certainly occupy a space on the "Frustration Porn" section of your games library, alongside Kerbal Space Program and QWOP.
