it's ok

Imagine the absolutely massive, brass set that you have to have to put this game on Steam, after:

Not updating the original game for years, with the promise of PvE, a full fledged story mode and skill trees
Deleting that game that people paid for
Release the "sequel" but completely changing the PvP team dynamic of a game that expects an unrealistic amount of teamwork already
Sequel doesn't have PvE, something something minimum viable product, but it's totally coming you guys
Turns out making PvE is hard! So we aren't going to (announced 6 months into the "sequel"!). Keep sending us $10 for new characters every so often! We love our community!
Release the game on Steam, where TF2 exists. I mean, really.

I hope you enjoy this burst in play time while everybody thrashes you, Blizzard. Don't you guys have computers to make the content you promised?

First and foremost, I'll say that I didn't pay attention to any of the E3 trailers or development footage. I had no expectations of what this game would be aside from the fact that it would be based on the tabletop game that I am also a fan of. From day 1, despite the bugs, I loved the game. The patches as of late have been amazing and brought it to be where it perhaps should have been a little after launch. Overall, it is an amazing game with a lot of depth and an amazing story.

For those who are giving it negative reviews based on recent events, all I can say is: Русский военный корабль, иди ♥♥♥♥♥!

its ok

I have put 970 hours into this game. I had a lot of fun with it initially. I uninstalled it back in May due to the fact that the gameplay was getting stale for me. There was a lack of meaningful updates, and it didn't seem like the developer was particularly interested in following up on promises made. Rather than lash out (honestly, why would I?), I decided to let sleeping dogs lie. I got my value out of the game, and that was that.

When Crimefest came around, I reinstalled the game to help unlock goals. Goals which probably would have happened regardless of if I played the game. I'm not jaded; it was a nice refresh after a 4 month hiatus. I had a good time.

Then... we got our Crimefest "rewards".

I swiftly uninstalled the game once I found out what our day one reward was; weapon boosting reskins and crates. Microtransactions have been added to a game that already had a decent base price and a gregarious amount of DLC.

I turned a blind eye to the staggering similarities of Payday 2 to Team Fortress 2, in that the update pages are arranged similarly, and over the course of multiple days. I never thought they would do something this drastic, because Overkill said themselves that they would never do this. And yet, here we are.

A lot of things have come to light since; the new Gensec enemy came out, which is a bunch of more difficult shields... Community mods have disappeared due to lack of support from the developer...

I can handle delayed and lackluster updates. I can't handle being lied to. I won't stand for this. If this update stands, my frustration is going to go a lot further than simply uninstalling the game.
