Smite is a game with a ton of promise. It lived up to that promise for a long time. I have been playing this game since before it was on Steam. A few weeks ago, I uninstalled it. HiRez doesn't have a coherent balancing philosophy, and the game is suffering because of it. The balance gets worse every patch. "But there were 'x' Gods played at the last LAN event!" you exclaim. It's not the Gods that are the problem. It's the items, and the basic philosophy behind them. Season 2 was terrible, and Season 3 made even worse decisions with items, becuase HiRez doesn't understand what they did wrong.

The game is on it's last legs because HiRez is (almost) trying to actively kill it's community
