Couldn't recommend this game enough. Try the free version, it's more than enough to get your feet wet and feel it out. Don't feel bad when you die to AI or traps, they're brutally hard and even experienced players get killed if they get complacent. The bosses are intense fights that feel like a mix of Dark Souls and an MMO raid. and the PvP is like almost nothing else. The devs are one of the most communicative and open teams I've ever experienced in a live service game and they update the game constantly with new content and fixes. Get some friends and play in teams or even the solo maps are incredible fun. Huge recommend.
