DayZ has provided me with some of the most unique gaming experiences of my life, but I cannot recommend it in it's current state.

Pros:
-Unique player interactions that have yet to be matched in any other game I've played
-Incredible atmosphere
-Uncompromising attention to realism

Cons:
-Less content than the DayZ mod offered
-So many bugs
-High price tag

I have so much more to say about this game, both good and bad. In an effort to keep it short: DayZ is still an early access game in disguise, and an expensive one at that.

Copy pasting a couple of good points people have been making online:

1. ARMA 3 lets you run your own server for free, so his example is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

2. PC games have provided custom servers gratis for decades now. But we live in an age of nickel-and-diming.

3. This is one of the most profitable games in the past few years, made on a (comparatively) shoestring budget. You're telling me they can't put some of that $700 million in revenue last year into custom servers? For God's sake, PUBG took Bluehole from "those guys who made TERA" to a $4.6 billion concern. It's the third best-selling Steam game of all time. And they can't spring for some new racks?

-Weak Story
-Insanely Long Load Times

Overall story and AI fell flat and ruined the experience for me, wanted to like this game but it just wasn't able to pull it off.

Was enjoying this game despite the rought edges but as of today I cannot recommend this game. Paid DLC for a game that hasn't left Early Access? No thank you.

Can't reccomend this game after the introduction of micotransactions.
