This game was great when it came out and it got better with time with the highlight being the 2 big DLCs: Wildrun and Calling all Units.
Wildrun introduced 3 new classes and bikes. The classes being drift, drag and monster.
On top of that, one of best modes The Crew has got implemented: The Summit. Additionally all players, including those who didn´t own the DLC got a free graphics, UI and handling update.

The same with Calling all Units: It introduced drivable police cars and new events, where even players, who didn´t own the DLC can participate on.

The Crew was revolutionary for his time. It was the first racing-game which implemented the "Live-Service" feature, where the game gets consistantly updated for free. It had the effect that people keep playing the game. Forza Horizon 4 uses this feature till this day.

Why do I like this game so much?

First of all I should talk about the flaws the game has:
-Allways-Online feature: This means that you need an internet-connection to start and play the game. NFS 2015 was hated for using the same system.

-No real performance tuning: The only way you can upgrade your car is by using cards, which you get at the end of an event. This feature makes the game really grindy and you need to grind upgrades for every single car.

-The physics are a bit wonky and buggy sometimes. You need to get used to the handling first but is is driveable not like NFS 2015

Even though this game has so many flaws, why do I still recommended it?

-This game still has a story. Looking at The Crew 2, Forza Horizon 4 and GRID 2019, this is a feature many racing games are not having anymore and it gets rarer every day. Many modern racing games are designed to be played online, because online-gaming is where most
gaming-companies are getting profit of (For example The Crew 2 has Icon-Points), while this game has also a premium currency there is a balance between the online mode and the offline mode, so your offline experience won´t be influenced by the online features.

- Atypical for a Ubisoft game, this game got many free-updates which made the game sympathetic, on top of that the Game got really good DLCs, mentioned above.

-The visual customization: It is possible to build up your cars in 4 diffrent versions (8 with the DLCs: Street, Race, Rally, Offroad, Drift, Drag, Monster and Police. All those versions drive diffrently and look unique. It is also possible to visually design the cars after your own taste. This was a revolutionary feature when this game released and is still impressive today.

To sum it up: This game introduced many revolutionary features back in the day and it still holds up good today. This game is in many ways better then it´s successor The Crew 2 and I definetly would recommend buying this instead of The Crew 2.
