Fun sim with an entertaining story and various pop culture references.

Uninstalled after roughly 60% of the game. As much as I enjoyed the artistic style and 2D platforming, I can't recommend this game to anyone at any price. This game takes memorization of what to do in what situation, therefore you die a lot in order to find out what to do. That is not a type of game I enjoy.
Oh you just busted through a door and didn't immediately start running forward? You're dead by house collapse.
Oh the subtitles semi-transparent box blocked a pit and you didn't see it during a running segment? You're dead by spike.
Oh you're running away and your partner needs help up a ledge and you helped her up? You're dead because you should have shot the guy who comes running into screen first.
It's just consistantly a "die and learn what to do and what not to do" game.
Very disappointing. I really wanted to like the game, and gave it multiple chances.

Only played the first 3-5 hours of the game, and it wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't that good either.

It probably doesn't help I started playing it right after I completed Deus Ex Human Revolution which was a far superior game for the whole 1st/3rd person cover based shooter.

The storyline of Spec Ops The Line just didn't hold my interest and seemed like just another generic war shooter storyline like all the others. I'm sure it has it's merits and would potentially even stand up against storylines of the single player campaigns from AAA titles like CoD and Battlefield, but I just didn't feel it.

The lock on cover base system seems wonky and doesn't always behave as you'd want it to, you can't skip the cutscenes, and sometimes the game is so linear in what you must do or where you must run that you've gotta fail once to see what your objective is. Your AI teammates are completly moronic and twice after a small cutscene without directing them to shoot at anyone, one of them would rush in and "go down" almost immediately, taking me out of the experience of setting up and being strategic and forcing me to rush in to save them before resuming my stragety. Not being able to skip a cutscene is particularly bad when you have to rewatch 2-3 minutes of content after dying. Those who are impatient and want to hurry and play/beat the game will be often frustrated.

If you think you'd enjoy it, try it on a Steam sale when it's below $5. Otherwise, spend your money elsewhere

One of the top 20 FPS games of the last 20 years. Fantastic story, graphics still hold up pretty well in 2015 compared to other older FPS games. Controls were top notch and was easy to manage ammo and abilities. Although it's not required, I think anyone who has yet to experience Bioshock 1 shouldn't play 2 or Infinite until they beat 1 first.

Interesting take on reverse tower defense. If you're not a fan of tower defense you may not be able to appreciate the game's design as much as others. Had good presentation value and controls. Not something that became a personal favorite of mine, but was worth a playthrough and purchase during a Steam sale.

Only played single player campaign so I can't speak for the activity level of multiplayer games. Was a lot of fun thoughout the campaign with well designed levels and boss battles. Took about 9-10 hours to complete during a casual slowplay. Easily one of the better Aliens or Predator games we've had over the last 3 decades. Worth a pickup when it's on sale if you're a fan of either or both franchises.

Fun realtime grid strat game. Occasionally CPU can be cheap on singleplayer missions causing you to rely on luck. Multiplayer is likely dead. Built in DRM sucks. Worth a play if it's your genre style. I had 100%ed the trophies on PSN version and still bought it here and replayed in Steam because I enjoyed it enough and it was cheap.

Horrible. No multiplayer modes (local or online), the hitboxes for just about every object on every level is off. Not even worth $2 for memory lane. Bad console port.

The game that revolutionized story driven FPS games. Please play this. The graphics may not hold up to your standards anymore but the controls are still very fluid.
Whether you've played the second one or not, you'd be doing yourself a big favor by playing HL1.

Best TD game on Steam. Nicely designed levels, enjoyable story, good length and great cost. Buy and enjoy!
