Get to live your Santa Cruz, Lords-of-Dogtown, deck-breaking, ♥♥♥♥-eating fantasies, all in singularly unique and bite-size experience.

It's a YES for me.

It doesn't even work for me.

It was almost a worthwhile gift. :(

Plenty of loot, custom builds and a bunch of mods (thanks workshop!) really make this a worthwhile title. It won't push the genre or introduce any new concepts but the game is still worth every penny, especially if you pick this up on a sale.

CS:GO Review
The true successor to 1.6. VALVe really went out of their way to make sure this game came out the way it did, catering both to the grizzled ancients and newbies alike. The engine feels just right when it comes down to firing your weapon and landing the shots, if not rewarding, but expect to be punished for careless mistakes as it always has been on the series in general. The skill ceiling is a high one, as expected, but the game does its best to prepare you for online play with the increased range of difficulty levels for the bots (with 'casual' being nothing short of a shot gallery rather than an actual bot match) as well as the general course; this last one I think works as more of an introduction to the series than an actual tutorial for those already familiar with the basic game mechanics. While I still remain iffy about the introduction of microtransactions to the series, I think VALVe has done it just right by limiting your purchase of skins to the marketplace (a completely optional feature of Steam in general) and, of course, their infamous "crates" first featured in Team Fortress and relabled as "Cases" for the sake of consistency with the in-game universe.

As always, Counter-Strike isn't a game for everyone, but whether you're a veteran to the series or just interested in seeing what the fuzz is all about and make a first break into the games, I highly recommend CS:GO.

Also, I apologize for my incessant use of run-on sentences.

I think the game is great, but I went in with zero expectations. I also went into the game directly after finishing Mass Effect which added to my enjoyment. The game plays identically to ME1 but it made the mistake of being released after ME2 which convinced everyone the first game's controls were balls. This is pretty much Mass Effect 1 with better dialog, branching storyline, and modern spy setting. It is a poorly optimized game, but if you've played through pre-GOTY Deus Ex or pre-fanpatch Vampire you know to expect some clunkiness.

I cannot fully convey my adhesion to this game in words; hell, I made a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ scrapbook out of it on my profile for ♥♥♥♥'s sake. I've referred the game to at least 3 friends who have gone ahead and bought it and all of the DLC, and I cannot see an end on sight on the amount of mods I'm gonna install. The writing, while not up to par with the original titles (Tactics and BoS be damned, really), is brilliant and on a very close second place to 1. The game comes with plenty of immersion-breaking moments and bugs to bear with, but there's even a full, unofficial patch for that! At any rate, I'd say New Vegas is, along with Fallout 1 and Myst, probably one of my favorite games all around. If you haven't tried yet, do so. Hell, ask me for a list of essential mods and I'll refer you to plenty of these and help you set them up. Just trust a stranger on this one -- Fallout: New Vegas is a game worth your while.
