TLDR below

My slightly triggered opinion:

I would ignore most of the negative comments below since its mostly from ppl playing on random servers with other new players that themselves are just tipping their toes into the water from what I've been reading. I'm sure they didnt take the time to get to know the community/communities in the slightest so them being disappointed or saying it gets boring quite fast isnt a surprise to me. Imagine playing counter strike against bots and just quit after 1-2 games. There's just so much more to Teeworlds than most of the negative or even some of the positive comments let you believe to be.

few basics:

If you're intrested in getting a feel for the game(and the many mods that criticlly change the game) I'd highly suggest you join the Discord servers which I'll be linking in the end because there's alot of communities that play different Mods of the game and getting in touch with them might improve your experience significantly.
The standart mods are CTF (Capture the flag) and TDM(Team Deathmatch) where you play as a "Tee" in one of 2 teams, Blue or Red. There's a total amount of 6 weapons in the game: Hammer, Pistol, Grenade launcher, Shotgun, Laser and a Sword, with 2 of them being on you since the start(Hammer and Pistol). Now that's as basic as teeworlds can get but again, there's a lot of mods u can choose from, with the currently most played ones being Dummy Drag Race(DDRace) and BLOCK but I'm not gonna get into them since u can easily find gameplay footage of them on YT.
That's honestly all you need to know about Teeworlds for now and im 2 lazy to explain each mod. even more reason for you to explore the game, rite?
Been playing since 2011 and don't see myself stopping anytime soon.

tldr; Game can be a hidden gem if you give it a chance. join the discords below and get in contact with ppl.
