its clear EA didnt understand who exactly they were making this game for from the very start. even when it comes to character creation. only like, 4 male hairstyle choices and something like 15 female choices.

the dialogue is completely atrocious. vee has to comment on every single thing you do in the game. return to session marker? shes got something to say. bail? shes got some snarky comment. they really should've taken Reda's advice to Shingo in skate 3.
"let me give you a couple of pointers. #1, dont talk too much. people dont like that.
#2 be very careful with this camera. this is the camera they filmed the Lakai video on.
#3 dont touch the camera with sticky candy hands.
and the most important thing - DONT TALK TOO MUCH"

its not even the fact that vee wont shut up. its that she's trying way too hard to sound like a hip young skater girl. "skater eyes" "footy" over and over and over.

the game doesn't even have darkslides or footplants/no comply's yet. game is still pre-alpha, its on the roadmap, but theres that. they were sure to make the microtransaction shop up and running though. so they can come for your sweet sweet hard-earned money.

also, online only. want to hop on for a quick session? sorry, gotta wait 7 minutes in the queue to play. oh, your internet service is down? too bad, go kick rocks.

in previous skate titles, you actually had to work for speed. now, its like your fourth push uphill has magical super strength that'll get you going 20mph. it just feels more like a tony hawk title than a skate title at times.

the core gameplay isn't the worst. but its just too floaty. when you catch the board you dont really stomp it to the ground. and power slides don't have that satisfying screech of the wheels. and IMO skate 2 had way better ragdoll physics.

also, a lot of the music is kinda lame. not really skate culture type music.

very solid and addicting game. i want more
