Take your time, enjoy the world, listen to the audio logs, read the text, and take it all in. You won't be playing this game forever but you will wish you could.

A traditional, turn based RPG with characters that have more dimension than most games. Full disclosure though, the primary gameplay loop better appeal to you because there is, admittedly, very little else going on. No minigames or such things, just pure RPG.

If that all appeals and you have a good chunk of time to spare (this is not a short game, my time played had very little faffing about), I heartily recommend it.

Having played on the Japanese server for..entirely too long, the primary piece of advice you'll need to follow is: don't super grind the game. As much as you might want to do otherwise, play casually and enjoy the ride. All of the important stuff is going to get soft reset next year when PSO2: New Genesis comes out. So just relax, maybe get 2 classes to lv 75 so you can use the Successor classes when they get released, and enjoy the ride.

This is a game that falls along the same line as every other SuperGiant Games production:
There really isn't anything like it.
Its beauty is beyond peer.
The music will be something you put on your phone to listen to again and again.
But you will also know if the game isn't your cup of tea very quickly. More so than Bastion and Transistor really, due to the nature of the "sports like" gameplay. However, I'd be more willing to put it into the RTS genre than the sports genre, simply due to the choices you have to make constantly with character progression and other elements that won't be spoiled here.

Bottom line? Try it. You'll know you don't like it well before the 2 hours of play time for returns are up. However, I'm willing to guess you'll be happier than you expect.
