Multiple mysteries, Nice locations and fun puzzles, Along with entertaining Ace Attorney like court cases. English Subtitles are well done.

[Yes, But]

Story: Ignore the haters, The story is another beautiful roller coaster of emotions with choices along the way.
Max is still Max and their comments on random things was nice nostalgia.
I don't think anything will be as good as the first LiS it was the first, but I don't get the hate others have for the story.

Gameplay Zones: The exploreable areas while beautiful (if you can get a stable texture quality) feels more limited than ever, and you annoyingly need to re-enable fast walk each time it loads between areas, there seem to be too many loading screens. No manual save, and it is somehow less memorable when it does autosave, so if you need to quit and are not sure when it last autosaved you may have to repeat multiple conversations when you load back in.

I haven't played the cat DLC, so cant specifically comment on it, There is an annoying full screen notice at a specific point loading between levels warning that you are about to continue playing without the Cat DLC this was immersion breaking.

Bugs: Visuals are by default are a blurry and un-optimised mess, so if you are even approaching low/mid specs it's a challenge to find the balance of looks good enough and doesn't play like a slide show - hopefully the planned patches improve this for the next round of players. I also had Doors randomly out of place, Max's giant floating camera appearing randomly when leaving conversations= and at one point in the last 2 chapters Max became a floating head until I quit and reloaded. I had less problems getting cyberpunk 2077 to be relatively stable :D.

I found adding the below to the end of the Engine.ini file seemed to help stablise my gameplay, and set max frames to 30:
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Chronos\Saved\Config\Windows\Engine.ini

[SystemSettings]
r.AntiAliasingMethod=4
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
r.BloomQuality=0
r.Tonemapper.Quality=0
r.LensFlareQuality=0

So Yes, I recommend the experience, but wait for the patches, and check the Technical Support forum to see if they are resolved. Disappointing yet another company is not sufficiently optimising their game experience before release.

This does not deserve a mixed rating, the main story is plenty good, the main side quests and boss fights are fun, combat style is not Arkam but still enjoyable, and you can usually cancel a move to evade an attack even if you have started an attack animation.

Only the mini side quests felt like they could have been better and the crafting was average. Plenty of auto saves so failing isn't very punishing.

As for technical issues I had very few, got stuck running on the spot 2 or 3 times (after going afk for 10/15mins) and had to exit the game, only a few times hit some low frames but never cost me a life.

Played in solo mode and used a Switch Pro controller.

A classic RPG with a unique fighting style that take a fair bit to get used to, but once you play for a while and have other QOL patches and mods installed it's worth playing through. Make multiple saves so corruption wont completely ruin your play-through.

If you are searching for quest/item help run gothic.fandom.com/pl through google translate as the the English pages are minimal.

Ok, yes this does feel more movie than game compared to previous games in the series, but it's still beautiful, with a good story with plenty of choices and feels. The LARP/RPG battle in the middle was great fun you can still feel this was made by gamers. Sale Price is well worth a play through. If you haven't played any of the games I'd recommend starting at the first one.

A short good multi choice adventure try to toe the line or fight the man, not always being sure where your choices are leading.

Ignore the haters, give it a go. Graphically it's not amazing but it's a fun RE experience.

Released in 2014 and updated in 2023 to fix crashing issues on newer systems.
That in itself would be enough for a positive review.

The game is also a fun platforming side-scroller and will scratch that itch.

Grab it on special (might as well get the bundle),
A fun fight system, A workable short story-line, nice locations with sadly invisible walls aplenty.
Good Eng/Jpn voice acting.
