Intriguing story and some compelling characters.
I've been more intrigued by the story and more invested in the characters than I was in Skyrim, for instance.

It's an easy, digestible and straight-forward way to learn and enjoy the thrilling world of fractions as well as frogs.
Ambitious, amphibious and ambivalent. Maybe the last one doesn't apply, but you get my point.

The game is, in terms of available choices and outcomes, massive. Surprisingly many of the choices also feel impactful/meaningful.
If this were purely a single-player game, I'd be impressed and content. Luckily though, the multiplayer works well enough for it to be an enjoyable multiplayer option as well. The ability to invest yourself together with a friend over a long campaign can be a beautiful thing.

Anyway, game is cool. I recommend it if you're at all into RPGs or tactics games.

Shooting, mining, gathering, exploring and co-operating.
This immersive and plastic shooter's got some proper stones!

The DRG team continues to deliver with new and interesting biomes, enemies, weapons and mission types.

They just keep expanding this already masterful platformer! How could I possibly stay away?

VVVVVV is a very simple game, both graphically and conceptually, but it makes something very enjoyable with very little. The music is baller, too!

Transistor is a beautifully presented game, both visually and aurally.
The combat is engaging and stimulating, allowing for some really clever use of abilities to overcome your adversaries.
The story is also quite compelling, and doesn't waste your time by being overly drawn out.

Seriously though, it bears repeating that the sound (specifically the music) and the visual style of the game are amazing.

I would heartily recommend The Binding of Isaac to anyone who isn't too squeamish. While the artstyle is very cartoony it still has some disturbing imagery and grotesque designs. That being said, this childlike portayal of such menacing sights offers a very interesting visual presentation for the game.

The proof, however, lies in the playing. This begs the question of how well The Binding of Isaac's gameplay holds up. For being such a simple idea initially to shoot baddies while avoiding being shot yourself a surprising amount of complexity is added with its varied item combinations. One game session you may find yourself becoming a flying demon spitting unforgiving lasers from hell, while in the next you may be stuck peeing on enemies as your only form of self defence. The game also does an okay job of ramping up the difficulty as the player progresses.

In conclusion, give this game a spin if you can spare the money and you can handle its graphical style. You may also want to consider picking up the expansion Wrath of the Lamb, it makes it even better.
