Tremendous game if you love the sort of feeling of progression you can get from games such as Terraria or other vaguely similar sandbox games. However this may only apply for your first time playing through what the game has on offer.

At the time of this review, the game is honestly exceptionally easy, even on the hard difficulty. There are some incredibly powerful items you can obtain within minutes of starting a new world and thanks to some crafting stations and other means, you can upgrade said items as you progress and they will honestly outclass any new items you'd get along the way for a very long time. The progression, while fun, is very easily "exploitable" to the point where the optimal loadouts don't feel particularly varied for a majority of the game. Sure you could go out of your way to use other stuff as a fun challenge, but I think most people will just gravitate towards the best items at any given time and that will stagnate a lot of playthroughs. This is one of the main pain points I hope gets addressed as the game reaches release.

Again, though, at its core, the game is quite great. EASILY worth the 15.99(€) at full price and that rings evermore true with whatever sale you may find it on. I got nearly 100 hours out of my first 1.5 playthroughs and I still plan on coming back for achievement hunting as I missed quite a lot. My concerns in this review are more a plea for the long run of the game than the short term at the moment, however I think the progression needs to have a keen eye kept on it, lest any planned features and updates before 1.0 make that part of the game too gargantuan of a task to fix in a timely manner.
