This game is truly one of the best free solo dev indie games of all time. It has a unique gameplay style, lots of personality, and is a labor of love from a single developer that is not getting a dime for the years spent on this trilogy. It's not very long, and it's a retro-like experience that few other games come close to, let alone get to deliver with a variation that keeps the game from growing dull partly through.

There's lots more to say but this game is a great game whether you enjoy point and clicks or action games.

It's f r e e.
There's literally nothing to lose.

Guilty Gear is kind of eternal for it's fans but this just throws the towel in the face of everyone that says 'cool broken ♥♥♥♥ is better than accessibility'. I am a +R lover; don't get me wrong, but getting people into fighting games is easier now than ever.
Strive is proof you don't have to do it perfect, but doing it well is more than enough to keep people coming back.
I've never played so many Smash and Tekken players in a fighting game other than this.
It's still an anime fighter, tho.

This game has a crazy amount of love put into it, and frankly is one of the best point and clicks/CYOA I've played in a very long time. The game play is rather taciturn but it clearly is made for accessibility and is enjoyable to play rather than something with a needless difficulty curve. The puzzles aren't so obtuse that it's impossible to solve, and even though some are optional, the game is worth replaying even now. I like how creative the dev has gone when it comes to point and click, and how some tools and items are useful even for situations that they would have been earlier if saved for later.

If you are interested in this genre even at all or original post-apocalyptic settings, I highly recommend this game for the setting and details alone.

I wish that more people would play this, and that it got a lot more attention, but I understand that the developer's wishes in not chasing dragons. Sometimes you just have to be happy with what you can give to the world, and I think this game is gem that will be unearthed later to many's disappointment that it never got greenlit for the continuation.

After years, this game is still not up to snuff of any game release outside of late beta and has definitely shown it's age. I've really tried to give this game my best, and was really hoping it was great. I've fallen through the floor and died multiple times however, and the game still crashes in several places. I bought this game on Kickstarter.

I fought one guy who teleported around for 10 seconds and then disconnected. Then it says a player disconnected and won't let me re-join quickplay. Fun game.

A rogue-lite (not like) where the procedural gameplay and smash-brothers style controls confuse many amateur action gamers but has lots of depth once properly learned.

Difficulty is high and the combat system is has a strong learning curve but rewards high-skill. The art style for all of ACE's games is extremely satisfying and always rich in culture with subtle jabs towards historic references.

Plenty of depth in collectibles and a versus mode with an actually deep combat system (parries, SH/FF, special/normal cancels) make the game competitive enough for the price point, and a 2 player co-op mode is more than enough for the game to function well despite it's age.

A sizable amount of reviews are negative, but a discerning eye shows a lot of recommended curators, the gameplay grows to fit the skill level of the player, and there's more than enough characters to fit the need for variation.

Hands down the best controller I've ever used.
No one uses a controller to drive a car or motorcycle, and we don't use a mouse and keyboard to point at things on our phone.
Companies need to step up to this level or consoles will be left behind.

Until the game becomes better patched, I will not have anything to say about it, which is sad considering it's a major favorite title of mine, and a reason I purchased a PS3.

Early Access Review
Great game, if it were being updated regularly. Slow updates plague many genres like this, and while I may have bought this game I do not reccomend this game for anyone who is fans of "roguelike-likes", as you may be highly dissapointed right now with the level of content (many alpha/beta roguelikes suffer from this) before finishing the game. There is little playability besides different weapons, which can (and should be) purchased from the shop on a playthough, and the enemies have little to no variation besides melee enemies, enemies with straight shot, and enemies with a slight homing shot.
Needless to say, the devs need to change the, "We're planning to add multiplayer co-op in the very near future, as well as a ton more content, and of course some bug fixes and polish.” to "We're on Valve time only we're not Valve."

More seriously, promising content that trickles out very slowly (last update was in October, after I purchased the game) when being in the early access is little more than getting a functional beta with less than beta content. The game has nothing that sets it apart from many other alpha/beta Roguelike-likes either, leaving it barren, not to mention the graphics are currently (hopefully) developer art, and will be just a bit more developed, but I'm not holding my breath.
