First half hour of the game gives a feeling of wonder and excitement in what could possibly happen in this game. After leaving the home island and arriving to the first town to get treated with constant fetch quests while treating the player (and character) as a nuisance and finding ways to ruin the experience for them; constantly running back and forth from home island to town for a single crop or item that can only be crafted or harvested at the home. The exploration is pretty minimal once unlocked, alongside the diving mini-game that lets you get additional loot.

Game has promise but at the current state, I cannot recommend this unless you enjoy spending your time running back and forth.
